I was just wondering... - if your child has "a song"???

For instance, Devin, my 2 1/2 year old, I have sort of designated the song "Godspeed" by the Dixie Chicks for him. I play it when we are in the car sometimes, I sing it too him when he goes to sleep, and it is just sort of "his song". For my son Brandon, it is "Blackbird" by The Beatles. Hopefully, one day I will have another son, name him James, and that way "Sweet Baby James" by James Taylor can be his song as well.
Do any of your children have their own song? Am I a freak?

MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, that is sweet!
DH put the song, "A moment like this" to Ashley's birth video. I always think of Ashley when I hear that song. I always start to cry when I hear the verse,"I've waited a lifetime for a moment like this" It's so true... even if I didn't know it, I have been waiting a lifetime for a moment like that and nothing else can compare to it!
mummy2girls replied: "in my daughters eyes" from martine mcbride. The part where it goes..she was sent here to rescue me. Just makes me bawl. Because it is so true!!!!!!!!!
MM'sMama replied: I always sing "I Hope You Dance" to Brice.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Mine is "In My Daughters Eyes as well" I usually can't get through this verse without breaking down.
Though she'll grow and someday leave Maybe raise a family When I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made me For I'll be there In my daughter's eyes

CCTandME replied: I think the name of it is Amazed. I use to sing it to my oldest daughter all the time when she was a baby. "every little thing that you do, baby I'm amazed by you" so true. I was always so amazed from the moment she was born, watching her grow and explore the world. Ahh, when life was simple.
Merlin replied: I dont sing it to him but that song accidently in love by the counting crows makes me think of Douggie
beckamouse replied: my maggie has two songs she enjoys...but they arent sentimental she just likes bouncing around to them.

JAYMESMOM replied: I agree. I heard the song for the first time bringing Jayme home from the hospital. It is out song.
maestra replied: Isn't she lovely by Stevie Wonder, and Lullaby (Good Night My Angel)by Billy Joel, even though it's sad.
I used to sing Lullaby to Jaci when I was pregnant. Then, when she was 6 months old, a friend's baby died of sids at 4 months old, and they played that song at the funeral. I could never get through it without crying before, and definately not now. But now they have the beautiful book that goes with it.
Good night my angel time to close your eyes And save these questions for another day I think I know what you've been asking me I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you And you should always know Where ever you may go No matter where you are I never will be far away
*Verse 2* Good night my angel now it's time to sleep And still so many things I want to say Remember all the songs you sang for me When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean I'm rocking you to sleep The water's dark and deep Inside this ancient heart You'll always be a part of me
(Musical Bridge) Do do do do...
*Verse 3* Goodnight my angel now it's time to dream And dream how wondeful your life will be Someday your child will cry and if you sing this lullaby Then in your heart there will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone But lullabies go on and on They never die that's how you and I will be
