Iain is sick again

I think it's a sinus infection. He's got a fever, stuffy head, and his snot is really really green.
About 6pm last night he just got really tired andd started fussing and squirming and couldn't get comfortable. He was tired and wanted to nap, but something was bothering him and we couldn't tell what. So he took a bath with his mom, because that always really calms him down. After that, he seemed ok, so we gave him a bottle, and about 5 minuted later, he vomited the entire thing right down my chest.
Ok, so babies throw up sometimes. It's not like it's the first time it's happened. He doesn't have a fever at this point, so we hold him and carry him and comfort him and stuff. Then we give him another bottle, which five minutes later, he once again throws up all over me.
So at this point we're a little panicky, and I call his pediatrician, and we get the answering servince to page her. She asks a lot of questions, like does he have a fever, diarrhea, has he been like this all day, etc. I can see that she's heading for dehydration, and sure enough, she tells me that our number one priority is to make sure that he isn't dehydrated. We're supposed to give him small amounts of fluid, instead of big bottles, and then if he throws that up, gets a fever, or has diarrhea, we're supposed to take him to the emergency room.
I really really don't want to take him there. They don't always have pediatricians in emergency rooms and there are sick people everywhere. I don't want to expose him to anything else.
So I mixed some pedialyte with his formula instead of water. That seemed to work ok. At least, he didn't throw it up. But later in the night, he developed a fever! We haven't taken him to the emergency room. We gave him Tylenol, and then Advil for hours later, and I'm getting ready to give him more Advil now. It seems to be keeping the fever down.
I don't know what to do, though. We can call his pediatrician tomorrow, or I think there is a pediatric urgent care facility we could take him to today.
Steph and I still haven't recovered from our bronchitis, and there will be hell to pay if I miss any more work, and she has to prepare for a class she has to teach on Tuesday.
It seems like everything is falling apart.

ediep replied: if you think its a sinus infection...I would bring him in to see a doc today. Those infections are painful!!! I had one last year and I was miserable!!! Maybe they can give hime some antibiotics!!
Poor baby!! I hope he is better soon!
Schnoogly replied: Well I would really rather wait for him to see his regular doc tomorrow since she knows him and we trust her...and his fever is staying around 99-100 with advil, and he is playing right now, doesn't seem too miserable, so I'm going to take him in first thing in the morning. I took a shower with him and that really cleared out his nose and brought the fever down a little.
Daddy is napping right now...he was on baby duty from 3-10am.
But we all need to get well! This of course couldn't happen this summer while things were slow at work for both of us and when my mom was on vacation and could come to help. Nooo, we had to start daycare at the same time I started a new job and daddy's project is due.
Sounds like this whole board needs get well vibes!!

Schnoogly replied: Well we had a rough night! His nose is completely blocked and he still has a fever. I feel better but I think daddy needed more sleep--he took Iain down to the recliner to sleep several times. I'm taking him to the doctor this afternoon.
amynicole21 replied: Poor Baby!!!!! I hate hearing that our kiddos don't feel well. See if the doc will consider giving him an injection of antibiotics so that they start to kick in while you are waiting to fill the prescription. I hope he feels better soon!!!!
Schnoogly replied: Ooh a shot! That will make him extra happy...but you are probably right, it would work faster.
