If someone asked you

Boys r us wrote: while you were out shopping if you thought something was ugly...and you did..what would you say?

Last night I went shopping with my best friend b/c she wanted to get some new clothes before we leave this weekend for our trip. Well, she was in the fitting room and I was standing outside the door of the fitting room and this girl...complete stranger.. picked up a top and it was so ugly..and she said, "excuse me..I need an honest opinion, do you think this is ugly?" I just looked at her and said,"actually I do think it is"

Then after I said it, I couldn't believe I had said that!! I didn't mean to insult her taste, but it really was and I guess I just spoke without thinking!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I would be totally honest if someone asked! Friend or stranger.

mckayleesmom replied: no....I am always honest...Thats why I couldn't work in retail anymore.....Im truthfull. I use to always take my sister with me because she is honest.

Kaitlin'smom replied: well you gave her YOUR opinion, thats what she asked for. If asked I answer but if not asked then I dont offer unless its cute or they look good.

MissyKay2005 replied: You did the right thing! Honesty is the best no matter what. Plus it is your opinion so she should not have taken ofence to it. Everyone likes different things. wink.gif

kimberley replied: i agree, i would be honest to. and if i was the girl looking at the ugly shirt, i would HOPE that someone would bring me to my senses with the truth lol. obviously she was iffy about it if she had to ask a perfect stranger if they liked it. don't feel bad.

gr33n3y3z replied: I would have told her also

Mommy2BAK replied: rolling_smile.gif What did she do or say after you said that?

mammag replied: I would probably have said "Well, I wouldn't wear it...."

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
You have more tact than I do. I think I would have said, Yes, it sure is.

julesmom replied: I think the way she phrased the question shows she was thinking it was ugly. If she didn't think it might be ugly, she probably would have said Do you like this? Or Do you think this is pretty?

Just by her using the word ugly, I take it to show she was thinking it too.

I would have said just what you did.

MommyToAshley replied:
Same here. thumb.gif

ediep replied:
yes, I agree...

so I think I would have said the same thing

My2Beauties replied: Yup - honesty is the best policy in the fashion world laugh.gif

coasterqueen replied:

ions_momma replied: I think it was ok that you said that. And I hope that if I ever asked someone for thier opinion they would be honest with me!

jdkjd replied: I probably would have said something to the effect of "I don't think that the shirt would be very flattering" or something.

jacobsmama replied: I think that she asked you for your opinion so if she doesn't like she shouldn't have asked your for your "honest opinion" I also would have just said no I don't like it very well or something. Good Job. thumb.gif

CantWait replied: LOL rolling_smile.gif congrats to you for speaking your mind. I don't know if I would have put it that way, but hey, she asked you...if she didn't want an honest opinion she should have kept her mouth shut LOL rolling_smile.gif

ammommy replied: I usually say that it's not the most flattering thing I've seen, unless it was a friend. Then I'd say what the heck were you thinking laugh.gif
