If you could change your name, would you?
cameragirl21 wrote: I realize anyone *can* change his/her name but obviously it leads to hassles by forcing everyone you know to suddenly call you by a different name. But if you could go back to the beginning and change it, would you and if so, what would you change it to? I love my name and wouldn't choose to change it but if I had to choose a different name I'd probably pick Gabrielle as I love that name or something unusual like Acacia or Elijah, which would be pretty unusual for a girl. I also like the names Antonia and Emmanuella for myself but probably would not name my own children that.
lisar replied: No I like my name, its simple and easy
Lisa Michelle nothing to be teased about there.
mckayleesmom replied: Now...no
When I was a kid...heck ya. Nobody ever pronounced it correctly and it was embarrassing. They always called me Brian. It wasn't as common as it is now. Nothing made my heart stop more then sitting in a class and hearing the loud speaker click on and if there was a pause...I knew they it was going to be for me and they were going to butcher the pronounciation....The pause was so they could try to figure it out and they always ended up saying BRIAN... and that was met with tons of giggles from my classmates of course.
It's funny because I use to always ask my mom why she didn't name me something easy like Lisa...
Crystalina replied: No. I don't think I would. I was named after the song 'Crystal Blue Persuasion' by Tommy James and the Shondells. My parents were hippies.
In school I was called Crystal the Pistol. My younger sister called my Crittle Bug. Then I was called Chiquita Crystal. Then in my mid 20's my gf nicknamed me Crystalina and that was the only name I liked until another friend came along and started calling me Crystalina Pumpkinseeda.
I tell ya, I can't win.
mckayleesmom replied: I got Brianna Banana
In high school all my friends just called me Banana.
My2Beauties replied: To be honest I wouldn't change my name, you don't hear LeaAnn very much and I think it's pretty...however, the spelling of it, now that I might have done a little differently!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Nope I like my name
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Nope, never. I'm like, so in love with my name that I want to marry it!
I do love my name. Particularly the unique spelling of it.
lovemy2 replied: Nope - I was named after my Grandma (her middle name) and now that she is gone and I had the relationship I had with her its even more special to me
HuskerMom replied: No I wouldn't change it. I really like it because it's not very common. Although in school it was sometimes mispronounced Johnny.
My dad has always called me Joni Lee, he hardly ever just says Joni.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Yes I would like to be Trixiebelle or Sparkle Divamuffin!
moped replied: Hey you stole my names!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brias3 replied: That's funny, cause I got that one too AND the Brian thing. I'm a Bri-ah-na, which wasn't that common at the time, so it was never pronounced correctly. I'd be called anything but
Danalana replied: When I was little, I HATED my name. My reasoning was that I had never heard of an old lady named Dana, and I would eventually be old...and that would just be stupid. But now, I probably wouldn't change it. Dana really isn't that common, and it was originally a masculine name. So I'd probably keep it. Unless I could use Aerosol.
luvbug00 replied: not my first name. my middle name i would change to marie like mya's middle name.
ZandersMama replied: I was named after Lisa Marie Presley there, i finally admitted it
nah i wouldnt change it, it works
BabyOwen427 replied: When I was a kid I wanted to change my name. Even my sister refused to call me by my given name. She's the one who started calling me Beth. I was named Bertha Elizabeth. Bertha is from my paternal grandfather's mother. My dad named me. All through school other kids would make fun of it calling it an old person's name. I remember in 6th grade we had to make a state and name cities in the state and tell what that city was special for. Well, I got grouped with some of the worst boys in the class and they named one of the cities Berthaville, which is where people go to give birth and then one of them threw his legs up in the air and tossed a baby doll across the class. So embarassing. The worst days were first days of school when I had to tell the teacher to call me Beth, and substitute teachers who would only call you what was on the roll call. As I got older I realized the honor in being named after someone, and I have been putting together my ancestry and have learned more about my Great Grandmother Bertha. I still go by Beth, but I don't have any problem if people call me Bertha.
Calimama replied: No, I like it. I was the only one in my class named Denise throughout elementary and middle school. The only person who made fun of it was my uncle. In fact he still thinks its funny to say, "Da niece and Da nephew". Because you know.. that's soooo original.
