I'm Back! :) - Pictures!
grapfruit wrote: I wanted to share some pictures of my trip (the renewal of vows for my Aunt and Uncle's 25th wedding anniversary).
Since there are so many here's a link to my photo bucket album.
The "wedding" was AMAZING! It was like a dream, super fancy (and expensive I'm sure). Literally like something you read about in the social pages.
momofone replied: Glad you had fun. You look pretty.
avory&samsmom replied: Yes you look absolutely fabulous my dear (in your best NY sociallite voice) it looks really fancy~schmancy! Cyndi said you ate COW STOMACH?!
grapfruit replied: Oh yeah. Forgot to tell you that. It's called "tripe". It's actually the lining of the cow stomach. It was ok. Not nasty, but not yummy either. I guess it's a typical Italian thing.
avory&samsmom replied: hmmm...sounds tasty
How many courses were there in this "rustic italian feast"?
moped replied: Ok, fabulous pics and I want to go to NYC soooo bad!
grapfruit replied: I'll scan the menu
NYC was FUN! I've been before, and would love more time for Tim and I to explore. Maybe next year!! I totally suggest taking the bus into the city though! Crazy drivers....
grapfruit replied: Dinner took place over 3.5 hours
Ok this doesn't even include the 2 hour cocktail "hour" w/7 buffets w/every food imagainable. And the same was w/desert.
Between each "course" on the menu was lots of dancing. Including about 20 couples that were ball room dancing. My aunt Patty danced a solo spotlight Waltz w/her instructor. She was wearing a hand made (from the lady that makes Dancing W/the Stars dresses) green and yellow fringe dress. Her husband Jack, danced w/HIS instructor who was asked to be on DWTS and turned it down b/c she didn't want to leave their "group".
I haven't been to their house in awhile but they have a "ball room" in their house. One wall is completely covered w/mirrors so they can practice.
edited to take siggy out
avory&samsmom replied: jeez. what did you choose for the main course then?
grapfruit replied: *sigh* I got the Filet Mignon. I should of been more adventurous and got the Tuna or something. I kick myself for that. I am all about trying new foods, so I'm surprised I went w/that. I just didn't have time to think about it is all. I'd say next time, but I think this was one of those "once in a lifetime" events
luvbug00 replied: I adore your dress!!! you look great!
grapfruit replied: Thanks! I got it for $5 at Debs! The zipper was ripped out of the back of it and my friend Katie fixed it for me. She did loops instead of a zipper and I think it looked better anyway!
So I was telling everyone I had on a Katie Original
CantWait replied: You looked wonderful. Sure sounds like it was an event, the menu looked yummy.
