I'm back from u/s

coasterqueen wrote: The doctor was so nice to me I about cried...much better than that RUDE nurse. She did the transv. u/s but since my uterus is apprarently pretty tilted we couldn't see anything more than the gestational sac. sad.gif We all thought we saw the pole (?) a few times but because I'm so tilted she said it was too difficult to decipher for sure. Dr. said if we do not see a baby or a heartbeat at my appt next Friday then I had a blighted ovum and will miscarry.

Sooooooooooooo we aren't going to think that!!!! I'm pregnant and there is a baby in there. There has to be. wink.gif She talked to me about blighted ovums though and yadda yadda yadda, didn't make me feel better about that, but oh well. She said to be "cautiously optimistic". She could have taken out the word cautiously but like DH said..she has to say that so if something does happen you don't come back and sue her.

She said the sac looked nice and measured 6 wks. Dr. did put me on progesterone suppositories, though, for my peace of mind. She said it wouldn't hurt anything to do it but that it's not necessary. So what fun that will be to do those things 2x a day through the 11th week, lol.

So that's all I have. We go again next Friday and hopefully will see our little bean pole! Keep those prayers coming ladies!!!! This baby and I could use them.

Oh and she gave me tons of strict orders basically not to do anything, lol, and to be very careful picking up Kylie and don't pick up anything heavier than her, lol.

OOOOHHH AND I'm a-ok to BF!!!! banana.gif She said that had nothing to do with miscarrying or if I would. She said that other doctor was being a "pill" and should have never said that. rolling_smile.gif

MomToMany replied: thumb.gif I'm glad it went well; nothing wrong anyway! Lots of P&PT coming your way for next Friday wink.gif !

horray.gif banana.gif Yay for the BFing banana.gif horray.gif !!!! That's great news thumb.gif !

If you don't mind me asking, what are your plans for BFing? Are you going to tandem nurse, or wean Kylie while still PG? Just being nosey......

coasterqueen replied: No I don't mind you asking. I don't feel that I want to tandem nurse, blush.gif . Trust me my good friend who's the CL on the BF board at IVillage is also very disappointed in me, lol. Not really but she thinks I should give it a try. I just don't think it's for me, but then again I didn't think BF a toddler was for me either til I did it, lol.

We are going to try to gently wean Kylie during this pg. She will go 1 to 2 days without even asking and sometimes when she does ask, I'll tell her it's gone for now and she looks at me and goes about her business, lol. Other times she gets fussy and wants it and I'm more than happy to give it to her.

This sounds silly but I guess if I was a SAHM I'd be more willing to entertain the thought but I know that working all day and then bf and infant at night and then if Kylie is going to want to nurse too...I just don't think I can mentally or physically take it without feeling exhausted plus pumping all day, lol.

I know sounds silly but that's where I'm at. Course..it's all up to Kylie. I won't make this tramatic on her so if she doesn't wean..then she doesn't. wink.gif

MomToMany replied: Awww, your notr disappointing anyone. It's not for everyone. I can see how w&p, nursing an infant, and then a toddler could be very tiring. There are days when I can hardly take it, too.

Sounds like your doing the right thing for her, and that's all that matters wub.gif !

Mom2Boyz replied: I'm glad everything went ok at your u/s!!!
sending p&pt's for your appt next friday wub.gif

Guest_angelhair replied: I am sure that everything will go fine next week, sometimes at six weeks it is to early, but the fact that the sac looks good is reassuring and the beby is still in there i AM SURE OF IT! it was great that you got a doctor who cared that makes all the difference. hang in there I prayed for you today as I was praying for my baby for the ultrasound monday. I prayed that God will take care of you and your baby and I know that he hears! heres to you. cannot wait until next week to hear. what day is your appt? love dee

amynicole21 replied: Yay! I hope it put your mind at ease a bit - though it sounds like she may have put some more scary ideas in your head sad.gif I know that everything is going to be ok - you'll see. The first trimester is so hard.

Guest_boogabearzmom replied:

momof2girls replied: All will be ok!!!
Your in my thoughts!

A&A'smommy replied: Awww I am SO glad that you and little one are okay I knew you would be that little one is going is strong and healthy! I can't wait to hear about your next app. i hope that you will have pictures to share!! Lots of love to you dear

MommyToAshley replied: I am glad your doc was more compassionate and more supportive of BF. That nurse was nuts to think you could cause something to happen to your baby because you're BF Kylie. Now, if you could have just spoken with the doc to begin with!! That doc needs to set the nurse straight so she doesn't scare anyone else! mad.gif

But sounds like the u/s went well, just too early to see anything. I think doctors like to cover all the possibilities and that scares the bageebees out of us sometimes, but it doesn't mean there is anything to worry about. I hope you can relax a little now. grouphug.gif

Keeping you and your baby in my thoughts and prayers. grouphug.gif

ediep replied: keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Jamison'smama replied: Glad the appointment went well--isn't it a good sign that you were measuring at 6 weeks? Right on target? My ultrasound was at 5 weeks 6 days and I DON'T have a tilted uterus abd she warned me that we most likely wouldn't see anything so I really wouldn't worry at this time.

Sending postitve thoughts and huge hugs!!

kimberley replied: stay positive sweetie! i am sure it will be okay! i am very glad you got a decent dr this time. and smash.gif smash.gif to the other one who said bf was harmful dry.gif . many prayers and positive thoughts for you and your bean. grouphug.gif

DansMom replied: I hope you get a good look at your little one next week! thumb.gif I'll be thinking about you and sending positive thoughts.

jem0622 replied: Karen that is great news! I did want to advise that a few things are normal with the suppositories and to give you tips. First...use the suppositories at night if you can. Also, use a liner b/c they are messy. No way around that.

In addition to that...spotting is normal with suppositories. You could see brown or pink. If you have cramps that cause you to double over or something doesn't seem right then call the OB asap.

The only downside to a positive hCG or HPT so early is that it seems like forever for you to feel and look pregnant. KWIM? It drove me crazy!

Lots of hugs!

coasterqueen replied:
TMI..but gosh did I ever figure out the hard way those things are messy. blush.gif I used one and stayed put for 15 minutes the other morning like the pharmacist said so. Then we went into town. I didn't wear a liner sad.gif. I quickly bought some though. tongue.gif

I have to take mine morning and night. It's getting OLD already and quit uncomfortable if I might add. DH thinks I should beg for some cream instead when we go Friday. I get the worst cramps after using those things. sad.gif But they aren't doubling over pain, just discomfort.

Actually I had symptoms right away with this pg and I knew something was different because I didn't have them with Kylie so much. tongue.gif The morning sickness especially. UCK!!!!!!! But I actually don't mind waiting to see myself pg, lol. I've already gained too much wait since beginning of July..1/2 pg and 1/2 not. It's embarrassing. I'd eat the house if I could. rolleyes.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm so glad the appt went well. I am praying for you and your little bean. I know things will be fine. It really is so hard getting through those first weeks, but then we never stop worrying, do we??

I use a hormone cream...it is natural hormones and not synthetic. I don't cramp with it, either. Maybe you could check into that.

Good Luck at your next appt. P&PT grouphug.gif

mama3x replied: I went MIA for the weekend and am so glad I found your post! YAY for a wonderful OB and an optimistic outlook! Take care and I'll send more good vibes your way. sunflower.gif
