Boys r us replied: Actually Vig we're FAR Far from Rich! But Dh and I bust our butts with two jobs each to be able to have the extras that we want! Him with his IT day job and working on his fixer up houses on the side and me with my bank day job and real estate on the side! Your comment kind of hurt my feelings, I VERY RARELY ever splurge on myself..it's always my kids I spend practically every penny of my money on!! Sorry if my being excited about a purchase that I have wanted for a long time and finally took the plunge to get looks selfish, but I can assure you that my kids are well provided for!

Other than the price, which of course is no small matter, I can't for the life of me figure out why more people don't use Macs. They are unquestionably superior to Pc's, especially if you're NOT a major techie. They are just so much more intuitive and easy to navigate around, whether you're familiar with their OS or not. And they don't get viruses. And Bill Gates is a jerk. And.........
Anyway, enjoy it, you're gonna LOVE it!

Re: Macs v.s. PC's.
I've used both for quite some time. With the introduction of XP and OSX, both systems are becoming very similar. While Macs have been immune to most viruses up till now, I fear with it's UNIX based OSX that you will start to see it's operating system become more susceptible to attacks.
Of course, it's still a matter of effort v.s. impact for the virus program writers. If you were going to write a virus, would you rather it affect 10% of the computers or 90%?
kit_kats_mom replied: Honestly, I wish I could have one for all of the photo/video stuff I've been getting into but my DH is certified in most things Microsoft and our house is all pc'd out (wireless broadband network, 3 desktops, one server, one laptop, one pocket pc, two mp3 players etc).

The reason I'm asking is b/c some network dorks at our parent company are relentlessly trying to take our Mac's away from us. We're a design studio, we love our Macs, and so far the only thing I've figured out is that these guys just hate Macs b/c they're unfamiliar with them. Why can't we just be left alone with our measly 3% -10% of the market?! Will the PC people not rest until we're completely extinct?!
