I'm not TRYING to make him a girly-boy.
Crystalina wrote: So DH is freaking out lately. Ok, here's the 411. Since Gabby has been born I haven't had the 1:1 time with Evan like we used to so I've started including him in EVERYTHING. When I cook, he helps. I've taught him how to load the laundry, add the detergent and then move everything into the dryer. He has also started doing dishes (although I have to rewash everything before I use it ) and he's turned into a mad freak over the Swiffer. It's to the point where he will not go to sleep if he knows laundry is being washed because he wants to put in in the dryer and turn it on. DH is so worried that these things are going to "turn him gay". OMG!! I said no, they will just make him a great husband darn it. He's still very much a boy and I have no worry at all that he will "turn gay" as DH says. And I told him that if for some reason he does then we will have no choice but to love our girly boy. I just say that to tick DH off. Anyway, he's 5 yrs old. He's already set in his boy ways. He will do the dishes and then go play in the dirt and play with his trucks. He also still does all the "guy" things with DH. And, btw, DH is doing so much more of those guy things with him since he realized his son loves to do laundry.
I guess I should have stopped before the man purse. Evan was hauling his Thomas the train around and the lock on his case is broken so I gave him a black bag I got to store the babies bottles in while traveling. It zips up and has a handle and I gave that to him and told him that he can carry his train in his new man purse. You should have seen DH's face when Evan showed him his new man purse. PRICELESS!!!
mckayleesmom replied: LOL....
Dh always tries to correct Russell when he says he needs to put some "panties on"...Leithan will deepen his voice and tell Russell "they are man shorts son"....
TheOaf66 replied: don't worry Crystal, Tanner does that stuff too...it doesn't gay him up, it will teach him to live on his own. So many kids get out there and they can't do laundry cook a meal or survive.
momofone replied: He will make a great husband one day
A&A'smommy replied: OH dear sounds like a true man Thats pretty funny though!!
Crystalina replied: That's what I told him. It's no different then him wanting to teach Izabella how to change a tire and check the oil in the car. He's already starting her on that and she's only 7! He said he doesn't want her to depend on a man...well....I don't want Evan to have to depend on a woman.
It would just be nice if Izabella would try cleaning up a bit.

CantWait replied: BWAHAHAHA I think it's funny. But you're right, he'll make a great husband one day because of it.
lisar replied: the boy aint gona turn gay, he will make a woman VERY happy one day. I wish my dh would help like that
austins mom replied: If it makes you feel any better my 9yr old son loves to do laundry and to cook. Because I let him. I have a 16 yr old step son that probably cant boil water. Because his mom believe that the woman belongs in the house and the man outside. Makes me wonder if he will ever be able to do for himself when he turns old enough to be on his own.
my2monkeyboys replied: LMAO!!! That is too funny - esp the man purse!!!
If it makes you feel any better Will wants a cupcake maker thing, that is definitely marketed for girls -- it's pink! He even says, I know it's a girl toy, but I want to make cupcakes, too. We don't have to tell anybody I have it....
So sad and funny at the same time. It's a shame they don't make a "boy" version with bright colors and stuff.
But, yeah, I think DH would react much the same way about that as yours did about the purse... it might be just the reason to get him one!!
Crystalina replied: I was thinking the same thing! Why not make and easy bake oven with flames or something painted on it? Like Hotwheels looking or something.
mckayleesmom replied: Russell wants a barbie....of course its the one that is dressed up like Batman...
