Well, Im pregnant again. I dont know what to think... im pretty worried that the baby will get a heart condition like charlotte had, and just go through the same suffering The doctor thinks i should abort cos his really worried about my health, but i dont want to... Ive been actually quite sick, i got so dehydrated from vomiting that i needed to be admitted for a few weeks to hospital on IV fluids and nasogastric feeding. Ive lost a lot of weight. But if i aborted i would never forgive myself. Please help.

Is there a genetics counselor your Doctor can send you to? maybe they could let you know if Charlies heart condition was a genetic thing or just something that happened. Maybe that would ease your mnd a little bit. As far as your Dr's advice to abort, you need to follow your heart. If you don't like the advice your Dr is giving you, find someone you are more comfortable with. I can't imagin how scared you must be.

my2monkeyboys replied: I agree with above... if you don't want to have an abortion, then by all means don't. I do understand though what the doctor is concerned about if you have been so sick.
And I agree that I'd get an opinion or 2 about the condition Charlotte had, to see if it is something the new baby could have as well. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that lots of prayers are being said for you!!!

I agree with other girls. You definelty should get some genetic testing and see what options are available before you make a decision. Good luck!

But she is pretty sick this time. she vomits 3 times a day, gets bad pain and stuff. Is that normal? Cos it didnt happen last time!

mom2my2cuties replied: Being pretty sick is pretty common in pregnancy.

I vomitted non stop for 9 months with both of mine. The pain and stuff, pretty normal too perhaps, your body has to stretch to accomodate baby.

I would say - ask your doctor, tell him you are not really interested in abortion and ask what other options you may have available to you.

maddie223 replied: Yeah, It does sound like me! Im vomiting A LOT, i can hardly eat or drink for that matter and i'm unable to get out of bed much, only to go to the loo and stuff. So josh set me up with a laptop in bed and put a TV in our room so i could watch it during the day.

I cant even think straight, im trying to do distance education and i just cant do it! I feel too unwell.

Ive got a OBGYN appointment tomorow AND a cardiology appointment but i think im too sick to even get there, and at the moment im not even keeping down boiled water! I get the feeling ill probably need a quick 2 L over a couple of hours in the ER tomorow... outings really exhast me at the moment.

Ive needed a nasogastric tube as well because i lost so much weight. Im only 6 weeks pregnant though, with my other pregnancy I didnt start feeling sick untill i was 3 months pregnant! Its kind of a scary thing...

im due on May the 13th. Apperantly there is a high risk of it being up to 3-4 weeks prem though.
