I'm so foncused.

Crystalina wrote: Some of the sites I go to say (according the the first day of my last AF) that I'm 4 weeks pg. I know that the baby was conceived on the 27th (18 days ago)...would I even know already? huh.gif huh.gif and why do they keep saying I'm 4 weeks?

btw, I obviously do know so...

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Not sure...In January I tested before af was late...and going by the first day of my last period I was 4wks 1day pregnant...that is early to find out....it was a chemical pregnancy...if I had waited until af was late I wouldnt have gotten a positive and never would have known I was ever pregnant. wacko.gif

Anyway...I dont know...sorry to hijack, just wanted to share my experience with testing and ttc I guess...now we are not tracking days or using the o kit cuz it was making me crazy and I was obsessed and testing all the flippin time!!

Crystalina replied:
OMG I'm sorry! bawling.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

The only reason I tested when I did is because I was going to fertilitygal.com and on the 11th of this month it said if I hadn't started AF I was probably pg. So that's when I went out and got the test and sure enough... I don't even really feel pg so if I wasn't going to fertiltiygal and checking the calendar there I still wouldn't have tested. I did use the last 2 tests just to make sure they came back pos.

jacobsmama replied: Because it is 10 months or 40 weeks from your last period. So the first day of your last period is when you go by and it is 40 weeks from then not from Time of conception. HOpe that helps. wub.gif

Crystalina replied:
So they count back to even before your actually pg. Ok, confusing but I get it.

Crystalina replied: So the baby is considered 4 weeks also? I'm just wondering when his flippers will come in. happy.gif happy.gif

You would think I never had a kid before. rolling_smile.gif I just forget. blink.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
Thats the part I was getting so caught up in, checking dates and blah blah blah...I use mymonthlycyles.com...and they even send email reminders of when af is due to start and when you o, its pretty neat...but the same thing happened for me if I wasnt checking charts daily I never would have thought to test.

The way they count how far along you are is so confusing to me too!!

moped replied:
That is correct!
You are really pg for 10 months..... wink.gif

lovemy2 replied: Yep - there are actually like 3 weeks of your pregnancy or your 40 weeks that you aren't even really pregnant - I remember I kept thinking my OB was out of his mind - I always thought I was a month ahead of where I actually was then he told me you are actually pregnant for 40 weeks not 9 months (which is 36 weeks - obviously) - needless to say I had a melt down and he promptly left the room and sent the nurse in to console me laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Crystal you are confusing me what are you asking???

you count your pregnancy from the first day of your last period not from conception date I don't know why ... you never actually count week one or two or 3 because one and two you aren't pregnant and 3 is too early to know tongue.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: That also depends on how long your cycle it. For those with longer cycles (like me, I have 35 days), then you have 3 weeks between the first day of your last period and the time you ovulate, then 2 weeks until your next period. So when I was pregnant with Will they actually just added 2 weeks to the time from when I conceived. I think they just do that so they know the baby will be in a "safe" range of development. It's pretty impossible to know the exact date you conceive. So, if you know when you ovulated, just add 2 weeks time to that and it will tell you far along you are.

luvmykids replied: It's always confusing to me too, it makes no sense to me at all why they count from the first day of your last period wacko.gif
