I'm so mad at my friends OB!!!!!
amynicole21 wrote: My friend is 5mos preggo and had her ultrasound today. It's a healthy baby boy!! Hooray!!!!
Anyway, he told her that she is gaining too much weight. She has gained 17lbs, and he told her she should only have gained 10 by now. My friend is 5'10 and a model and weighs about 120 soaking wet. She has struggled with eating disorders her whole life. This was the last thing she needed to hear
I'm sure the dr. doesn't know about the eating disorders, but still, have some sensitivity! He said she had had a "cute figure" (no lie) and that a lot of wt. could ruin that!! What a jerk!!!
I've told her time and again that it doesn't matter how much she gains, just to enjoy this time being pregnant. I think it has gotten to her, though.
Grrrr!!!
catou_98 replied: what a jerk!!! <---oh how I would love to do this to him right now!
on an other note: Congrast to your friend on a healthy baby boy!
MommyToAshley replied: He should be sued for malpractice!!!! What if this causes her more problems with her eating disorder or causes harm to the baby because she doesn't eat properly! Maybe you can recommend your Ped to her!
Mommieto2Girls replied: AAAhhh, I would be looking for another doc. a.s.a.p. Shame on him!!!!
Congrats on the baby boy !!!!
ediep replied: that is terrible!!! I can't believe that he said that!! 17 pounds is not too much, esp. on someone as tall as she is!
Schnoogly replied: OMG!! My jaw dropped when I read that. I'd sue for sexual harassment...cute figure...you a**!! I would never have a male OB. I'm sure many are fine, but I keep hearing crap like this. That's just the worst thing to say to her!!!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: That's just horrible. With all the things that a woman has to worry about while pregnant this morom says something like this. I would find a new OB.
Kaitlin'smom replied:
second that!
I would be getting a new Ob....I once had a med student tell me I was over weight and need to loose weight (okay I was, well am) but dont tell me I need to loose weight when your twice my size! Hump....needless to say I never went back there
Hillbilly Housewife replied: What a jerk.

I gained over 70 pounds with my first baby - who CARES!!!!! Well I do a little...but not that much...
She should just enjoy it! It's not like she'll be running for a photo shoot 1 week after delivery anyways... she's not Cindy Crawford.... she shold get a new OB, definitely.
amynicole21 replied: She just sent me these pics she took today. Too big indeed!@!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: OMG!!!! I wish I had looked that good while I was pregnant.
MommyToAshley replied: I think I looked like that at 10 weeks. LOL!
Schnoogly replied: I wish I looked like that now!!!! She's hecka skinny!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG what a terrible thing for a doctor to say! I can't believe that! Every pregnancy is different and I think that's awesome that she has only gained 17lbs! My God when I was pregnant with my first baby I gained 40lbs! With the second only 25lbs and with this last one I didn't gain anything at all (I was still so fat from the first )
mustangmomma1981 replied: OMG!! That is awful She doesn't even look that big and how can he tell her she gained to much. That is just plain stupid!!!
aspenblue1 replied: I would definately look for a different OB.
catou_98 replied: I second that! I wish I could look this good NOT pregnant!
TLCDad replied: I could barely tell she is pregnant. I can't believe her OB said that. As everyone pointed out, I think its time to change Doctors.
supermom replied: Doctors like that ought to be shot!! Or at least strung up by their toes and hung out to dry!!
That is terribly disgusting for him to say that. to her OB. If I were her, I would think about looking elsewhere for my treatment.
paradisemommy replied: definitely look for another OB..i gained about 60 lbs. with my ds..heck - i didn't care - and my OB (female) kept telling me to watch my weight too!!..screw em
she looks awesome!! tell her we all said so and we outnumber her dumb OB
CantWait replied: What an hmmmmm Jerk
I'd be looking for a new O/B who has some sensitivity and bedside manners.
