I'm so sick of being sick! - vent!
MoonMama wrote: I swear Braedin or myself are ALWAYS sick! Remember when I posted about 2 weeks ago about Brae having a runny nose? But that was all he had was the runny nose....no cough, no fever, nothing else. So we finally went to his peds Tuesday (11/13) and she called in amoxecillin (I can't spell today and I just don't care ), she said if he wasn't getting better by that Friday to go pick it up and give it to him. He wasn't so I did and we started it last Saturday night (11/17). Its a 10 day med so he will be done with it Tuesday. It seemed to be helping and his nose wasn't runny anymore and he seemed like he was getting back to his old self. Thanksgiving afternoon he started with the runny nose again....by yesterday morning he had a bit of a cough too. By last night his nose was pretty runny, cough was worse he coughed all night and poor thing kept gagging from it. This morning his nose is SO runny,, he's sneezing like crazy, horrible cough, a bit of a fever. And now I'm starting to feel nasty too. So off to the after hours center again today I guess. Why can't we get a break and actually be well for a few weeks! I have had no sleep in weeks, he feels yuckie so is up many times a night. DH NEVER gets sick, not that I wish him ill its just annoying. Thanks for letting me vent, and if you can please send us some get well and stay well vibes along with some start sleeping better vibes.
luvmykids replied: Yuck, you both sound miserable Did you ever try the Benadryl for his nose? I hope you're both able to rest up and start feeling better
MoonMama replied: I did a couple of times but the ped said "no no no absolutely not".
Calimama replied: Have you tried getting a humidifier? It seems like you guys are always getting sick.
MommyToAshley replied: If it weren't for the fever, I'd say it sounds like allergies. Mine have been horrible the past few weeks. But, you don't run a fever with allergies, at least not that I know of.
I'm sorry, I hope you both feel better adn stay better.
lovemy2 replied: Dylan has done the EXACT same thing only he had an ear infection so we had the antibiotic - he was fabulous for TWO days - poor kid - he is back to looking like he has been in a war
MotherForever2043 replied: Here are some vibes:

*~Get some sleep soon vibes~*
MoonMama replied: We always have one on. I think we may be passing it back and forth, I have always had a horrible immune system and he seem's to have issues during weather changes, which has been happening here a lot.
Thanks guys.

You said somewhere that you have a poor imune system, do you take vitamins everyday? If not I reccamend taking a woman's daily vitamin (my dr said that everyone should take these it doesn't matter if your 19 or 50) and also and extra vit. C everyday.. I use to get sick a lot too no kidding problem about once a month I got stopped up, sore throat... sometimes a little different, then I started taking a vit. C and I have only been sick once in about 5 months its been REALLY nice. I hope you guys start to feel better quickly!!!
Kentuckychick replied: I am right there with you! I just got over bronchitis (brought on by allergies) not but 2 weeks ago and my Thanksgiving was pretty much ruined by the horrid cold I have right now (completely congested nose, nasty wheezy cough, and a headache to boot!). I thought the bronchitis was bad... this is way worse!!!
I've found the best thing is peppermint tea, facial massage and when your nose is stuffy on one side, lay on the other with your head propped on the heel of your hand right on the pressure point behind your ear... it usually drains within a few minutes (just so the other side can then stuff up!)
I hope you guys feel better soon! I have to do my lead teaching week this week and next so it is SO not a good time to be losing my voice!!!
MoonMama replied: I'm actually really good about taking my vitamins. I didn't used to get sick this much but when I was 16 I was hospitalized for REALLY BAD strepthroat (sp). Ever since then I have had a horrible immune system. Although I have never had strep since, go figure right.
