I'm such a WUSS....

kit_kats_mom replied: I always filed Katherines because she was just too wiggly. Lauren is way more mellow and I just hold her in my lap & use the baby nail clippers.
MommyToAshley replied: Will she wake up if you do it while she sleeps?
I was a WUSS too, I had my Mom cut them. My Mom always pushed the skin by the nail down, or back, exposing the nail and then clipped it straight across.
When she got older, I found it was easier to do after she got out of the bathtub.
redchief replied: I wasn't a wuss about it until I cut poor Erin's little finger. Then I became a total wuss and let Lisa do it from then on. lol
huggybugboy replied: Miles actually mellows out when I cut his nails. I don't know what his deal is...
A&A'smommy replied: If there is I haven't found it but over time I have learned to do it better I haven't hurt her *knock on wood* since she was tiny and that was only because my FIL was holding her and not me... I'm lucky though Alyssa has ALWAYS sat still and watched me do it she even tells me to do if they need to be cut
ediep replied: when Jason was really little, I did it while he was sleeping in his bouncy seat or car seat. Now he stays still for it
kayla's mama replied: Thanks guys. We gave her a bath tonight and I still chickened out and filed them. Maybe next bath I'll work up the nerve to actually clip them.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I was filing Wil's until he was maybe five months, but then got used to using the little baby scissors that have the rounded edges. Wil used to be calm too when I would do it, but now he wants to grab the scissors. I have to give him a toy in one hand or sing to distract him! The nails don't get cut as often anymore!
amynicole21 replied: I always bite Nora's off It's the only way I'm sure that I won't cut her.
Also, I wouldn't do it in the tub. Everything gets so soft in the tub and I've trimmed Sophia's toenails back way too short because I couldn't tell where the nail actually ends.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: That's what I do too - I started doing it after I cut Andrew's skin a little bit. It works really well!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I`ve always bitten them off... then when they got a little bigger (around 4 months old) I`d cut them with the baby nail clipper - they always sat still and watched me do it - now Zach and Em both ask me to cut theirs.... Zach asks me to cut his hair when it`s getting too long too...
Jamison'smama replied: Yep--I'm a biter too but I do feel much more comfortable clipping Jacks then I did Jamison's--I always filed or bit hers off--now she'll sit for it. I bite Jack's for the most part but clip if he happens to fall asleep in my lap with clippers nearby.
mckayleesmom replied: I used the safety first baby sissors with rounded edges...it was alot faster and easier then lining the clippers up properly and making sure I didn't cut them.
luvbug00 replied: I clipped away and didn't cut Mya fortunately. Hope you find a method that suits you.
