I'm such a bad mommy....
Hillbilly Housewife wrote: I woke up this morning around 5:30am, and while I was up, I heard Zach waking up. So I grabbed the bottle of milk on DH's bedside table that he had made around 4, and went into Zach's room. I gave him the bottle, and went to the bathroom.
When I came out, DH was yelling something to me - I asked him to reapeat, I hadn't understood - he told me that I gave Zach sour milk!!!!
I was like WHAT?! What do you mean?!
And he told me that the bottle that was on his nightstand was the one from BEFORE midnight.... the one that was ok to give him was in the mini-fridge we have in our room! Oh no!
Zach drank the whole thing. There was about 4 ounces of sour gross milk...and he didn't complain at all. Will he be sick? He seemed fine by the time I left....and I told DH to make sure to tell the sitter to call if he doesn't seem right...
Ew. I feel horrible.... poor baby! I'm so horrible!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Don't be to hard on yourself these things happend and I'm sure he will be just fine!
This might make you feel better, when I was pregnant with my DS I thought everything smelled bad! So I was making my DH his lunch one morning and the balony smelled rotten, but I thought it was just me. I didn't think anything of it, DH came home and he told me he wasn't feeling too good! We had to go shopping so I told him I would shop and he could just sit in the food court. Well I finished my shopping and went to find DH! He still was not feeling good and thought maybe some icecream would help things. While he was standing at the counter getting icecream he almost passed out! I had just happened to run into my cousins DH who insisted we go to emerg! While there we found out that DH had a really bad case of food poisoning! When we got home that night I look more closely ath the balony and it was rotten! I poisoned my DH!
mummy2girls replied: your not a bad mommy. I think he'll be ok. just call and check up to make sure. I had done this one time to jenna. I has half asleep one night and heard jenna wake up around 330. I had grabbed the bottle of milk i had made her a little while back not realizing oops wrong bottle. i grabbed the one that had sour gross milk in it. I realized after she drank it that it was the wrong one because when i went to grab the good bottle i realized..CRAP!!! she did get a bit of a upset tummy she did spit up more than usual but other than that was ok.
mckayleesmom replied: I had bought some of those little bottles of gerber juice one time and I poured some for mckaylee and gave it to her...for the next 2 hours I kept smelling something sour on her like it was rotten. I didn't know why she was smelling like this but I knew it was coming from whatever she was drooling and spitting up...well I checked the juice and it was sour. I didn't even think to smell a new bottle of juice, but I will in the future.
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww your not a bad mommy things happen. Kaitlin almost started drinking a bottle at the sitter from yesterday, but her DH saw her pick it up and said eww thats from yesterday. Thankfully she had just picked it up and was just playing with it.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Thanks guys... that's soooo gross. I can't believe I did that! lol!!
I called the sitter...she says he's fine!
*mental note - check milk always!!!!*
Schnoogly replied: I've almost done that too--luckily Iain won't even taste it if it smells the slightest bit funny. If it were really sour he probably wouldn't have drunk it!
maliksmommy replied: You are definately not a bad mommy, we all make mistakes like that. I am glad that the sitter says he doing fine, that should ease your mind
ediep replied: Don't worry about it anymore, I think if it were really bad he would have vomited. I'm sure he's fine
CantWait replied: awwww Don't be too hard on yourself, you're a great Mommy Just think of it this way, you shouldn't have a hard time getting Zach to eat gross things like spinach and brossal sprouts (sp?) LOL Cheer up!!!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: He's already had spinach - and he LIKED it!
(seriously - I gave him some spinach dip with bread the last time I made it - he LOVED it! )
CantWait replied: LOL see point proven
MommyToAshley replied: Don't beat yourself up, stuff like that happens. And, if he drank it all, I guess he didn't mind too much. Looks like he is ok, that's good.
