In search of size 5-1/2 toddler tennis shoes

MommyToAshley wrote: I have been EVERYWHERE looking for shoes to fit Ashley. Size 5 is getting too small and size 6 is huge on her feet. I know she would eventually grow into them, but she is already clumsy enough without over-sized shoes. I will order just about anything online, but I really want to try shoes on her. Any ideas of a good B&M store where I can find Ashley a good pair of shoes in size 5-1/2?

kit kats mom replied: After searching all of our local stores for 4 1/2's for K, I finally admited defeat and ordered a pair from nordstroms online. If you have one near you, they may have them.

Good luck

MommyToAshley replied:
thumb.gif Thanks, if all else fails, I will order them online. Have you received K's shoes yet? How did they fit? How's the quality?

kit kats mom replied: I got them today. They fit perfectly and they are REALLY cute. Soft leather pink and white tennis shoes. I hate the fact that they were so expensive though. I NEVER would have spent 30 bucks on a pair of toddler shoes if I hadn't searched high and low for them to no avail dry.gif . I'm hoping that she doesnt' wear them out too much and that perhaps I can recoup some of that money by selling them on ebay when she's done.

MommyToAshley replied: Thanks. I will look around some more, but I am running out of hope as well. I know what you mean about spending so much on toddler shoes, Ashley only wears hers for about 3 months and is then in a new size. Good idea about selling them on Ebay.

And, now for an off-topic question, why are you logged on as a Guest? rolling_smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
tongue.gif Lol nosey rosie! ROFL

We have a laptop downstairs and I can't remember my password so I just sign on as guest from there.

maestra replied: What is B &M?

I got Jaci's 5 1/2s at Payless, they have some really nice children's sneakers.

MommyToAshley replied:
Oh sorry... Brick & Mortar, meaning an actual physical store versus an online store.

Thanks for the Payless tip.

MommyToAshley replied:

I have seen you logged in a few times as a guest and was just curious. So, I guess I am Nosey Rosie. rolling_smile.gif

We have some laptops too, but we don't use either one exclusively. And, sometimes I log on as TLCDad.. that irritates me. LOL rolling_smile.gif I then have to go back and delete my post and repost as ME.

Jamison'smama replied: For half sizes I usually have to go to Stride Rite----I prefer the outlet though-they are half price there.

I bought some cute tennis shoes at Kohls but I think they may have been whole sizes--can't remember it was when Jamison was in a 4 --she wears a 5 now so I have been looking. Good luck.

aspenblue1 replied: I was going to say stride rite outlet. There is on at the jeffersonville outlet mall. That is where I get Isabella's because they are 1/2 off.

ediep replied: I got Jason's severyday sneakers at stride rite. They have whole, half sizes and widths. I also got him some other shoes at Target., they have whole and half sizes....a friend of mine told me that target baby shoes are stride rite "generic" shoes. I don't know if thats true or not, but what the heck....I figured its no big deal since he only wears them once in a while

kimberley replied: i love stride rite shoes! the boys lived in them and they are wide enough (Jacob had chubby feet) and come in half sizes. let us see what you get her smile.gif

maliksmommy replied: Malik must have some monster feet because he is wearing a size 8!! I like to get his shoes at Pyaless and they have all the 1/2 sizes and I think Target does too.

coasterqueen replied: Well, I was going to say Stride Rite too. We don't have an outlet store here, so I usually have to pay full price. I finally broke down and decided to go to Payless for Kylie's shoes because she wears them out in 2 months or less at the sitter. I don't know what she's doing there, running a marathon or something! I can't afford $50 a pair of shoes every 2 months, so Payless is it for me. I just got 4 pairs there the other day for $30.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I am having the same problem with Claudia, but unfortunately here in Thunder Bay we are not so lucky to have a lot of shoe selection! She has just outgrown her little size 4 dress shoes from Sears and the size 5's are way to big. I can't find a 41/2 to save my life! She has a lot of shoes, but they are all size 5-7. I can see it's going to be a while before she even fits into any of those! wink.gif
