Infant/Baby Gear - What couldn't you live without

juliajaj wrote: Baby #2 is due in a little over 6 weeks. We have just about everything thing we need for the baby's arrival, but I thought I'd check to see what you couldn't live without when your baby was born. As for me, the #1 thing that helped out the most when Olivia was an infant was the vibrating bouncy chair.

Thanks.

kimberley replied: my swing and my sling. if one didn't work the other did. made life a lot easier. and preparing meals ahead of time. warming something from the freezer is soooooo much easier than cooking a whole meal!

YAY for 6 weeks to go!! thumb.gif

jem0622 replied: I couldn't live without my pack-n-play, baby bjorn, boppy pillow, or baby nightgowns.

Don't forget to tell visitors to bring big sister a little something if they intend to bring a gift for the baby. Even if it is a sheet of stickers or a coloring book. Something to show that the matters. ;-)

bellymonstersmama replied: I wish I had bought a bassinet. Annabella slept with me for the first few months, while dh was in Iraq. When he returned Bella had to go in her crib, in her own room sad.gif I miss waking up at night and having her right there.

DansMom replied: My nursing pillow and Lansinoh. Wow, I can't believe how close you are!! thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied: I would have to say I wouldn't have been able to live without "My Brest Friend" nursing pillow, my rocking chair, my lansinoh lanolin, kellymom.com, a breastfeeding board I frequent, burp cloths, my several slings, my Medela PIS, diaper genie.

I could have lived without the crib, crib bedding, swing, bouncy seat, bottle sterilizer, bottle warmer, high chair. That list could go on. LOL.

paradisemommy replied: i would say my boppy pillow, diaper cloths (i carried one wherever i went) and swing - he would sleep in there for like hours on end..it was great!!

ediep replied: I couldn't be without the swing and the summer tv monitor.

MomToMany replied: We don't have room for a lot of stuff, but I would have to say a nursing pillow, the bassinette (to move from room to room), and a water bottle. I'm constantly drinking water! The bassinette is great (or a Pack-n-play); it's on wheels so it's easy to move. We don't have room for a crib, so I have no idea what we are going to do when that time comes! It's going to be very cramped for the kids!

boricuaqueen327 replied: I couldn't live without lansinoh, a breast pump, a boppy pillow, a baby carrier, a few back up bottles and formula just in case. With me nursing didn't work so i had to pump and supplement with formula.

loveydad replied: Hmm. It varied really.

Henry, (17 years ago) it was his infant seat really. I could sit him up on the counter (woops) and he loved to look around.

Vincent and Kel (5 years ago) it was the swing, the bouncy seats, (Carseats of course), and their stroller.

Tracy (2 years ago) Her bouncy (I think it was Kick and Play), her swing (graco) and her boppy.

Nicky (almost 1 year ago) it was and still is his crawl and play pooh (don't know why he loves it) his fisher price aquirium, and his carseat (so he'll finally sit still for five minutes!)

Andriana (though Henry would know this) it was probably her swing. She was colicy and the swing would calm her down. Also she was in her baby bjorn quite a bit and now her backpack.

Carter and Clara -their swings (those cradle aquirium ones) and bouncy seats (one is winnie the pooh and the other is ocean wonders). Also their Graco Duo Glide stroller because it holds BOTH(!!!!) carseats.

mama3x replied: With my DS who is 12 yrs old now, I couldn't have lived without this one mobile that kept him totally fascinated for good amounts of time and his infant car seat carrier (I used it to feed him in until I can't remember how old he was as well as later for watching some Sesame Street too - oh and I would belt him in so I could take a shower...he started showering with me at almost a year old).

With DD who is now 14 months, I must say that infant car seat carrier is still on the list and my glider rocker with ottoman (we BF up til' last month). Also her Glo-Worm crib music thing - it puts her to sleep at nap and night.

Clothing-wise, for DS it was baby tank tops (necessary in Hawai`i) and thin material onesies. For DD it's onesies since she loves to undo the velcro on her diaper.
