amymom replied: Well, I am first generation irish-american, and noone famous in this bloodline. But my children are 14 great grandchildren of William Bradford, who was the governor of Mass when they began Thanksgiving. He and others in their past came over on the Mayflower. My MIL is a Hastings which is a very old American name. There was a ship named after her great (don't know how many greats) grandfather. The Warren Hastings. He had somehting to do with India and Britian.
maestra replied: I can't remember exactly why, but I am related to pres Harry Truman. I know it is through my Mom's father, but from there I don't know.
Kaitlin'smom replied: My mother told us we have a connection to Pocahontas?? I am not totaly sure how. Also we have ties to history in our state there was a city that was named after our ancestors but later got changed. We are even named in a book

redchief replied: My maternal great grandmother swears they could trace their bloodline all the way back to Pocahontas too... I have no concrete proof of this and wouldn't know how to go about it. We have a set of silver that dates to the late 1700's that supposedly is proof of this. My eldest daughter will get this heirloom when she reaches adulthood.
