Maddie&EthansMom replied: We don't have any 'registered' S.O. around us and very few in our town, even....however, the ongoing problem is the ones that aren't registered.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Thank you for this site, I didn't know there was one 1 street to the north of me!
ions_momma replied: Thanks for the link! We have a few in our town, but none within a few miles of our house.

six_kids_at_28 replied: PA isnt there
kit_kats_mom replied: Just an FYI. I received this from a friend of mine who I sent the link to. ================================================ Thanks Cary, this is an interesting site, with very pertinant info....and snazzy features, too. Just as an FYI...I used to work in Florida's sex offender registry, and I would caution that the information that sites like this one use is probably not up-to-date. Most of the websites that compile and host second hand sexual predator and offender information get data dumps from individual state registries. Becuase many registries get data daily, once these companies obtain the data, it is already "stale". If you do use the site, you should also go to your states registry to ensure you get the most complete and up-to-date information. Florida's Sexual Offender Registry is at: http://www3.fdle.state.fl.us/sexual_predat...onId=337148252& Hope that I dont sound like I'm advertising for anyone, but I always hated to see people get partial or out of date information from third parties, when all of the information that these sites offer is already available for FREE (with few exceptions) from each state. When we talk about the safety of our most precious assets, we need as much accurate information as possible. Thanks for listening....I will get off of my soapbox now... :-)
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Cary, I was noticing that it isn't up to date, too. When I checked my hometown there are several people on there that I KNOW to be registered s.o. that aren't listed. I was going to mention this as well.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I went back and typed in my parent's address (where I grew up) and you know how there are red dots where the offenders live and there is a little house to mark where you live? Well, there was a red dot on my parent's 'house'. So, I clicked on the dot and come to find out the lady that lives behind my parents is a registered s.o. I called my mother. She never knew this. This lady was a teacher and has a son and daughter who are grown. I have never seen the woman and they moved in before we did. So, we don't know her and as kids walked by their house often. How freaky. You just never know who could be lurking around. *shudder*
mom21kid2dogs replied: Exactally!
TeagansMom609 replied: I have 71 in my area.
holley79 replied: It is a very scary thought. I don't know how it is in your state but in the state of Florida if you have a Sexual Predator move into your neighborhood you are to be notified by your local agency. I just went to Watchdog and I know (work at the Sheriff's Office) there are some registered sex offenders houses that are not listed on there.
It is your right to contact your local agency to find out if there are any in your neighborhood.
It is a very scary and growing problem. You never know who your neighbors are. When we have children that come up missing in our county, we have a task force that gets deployed. They go to every sex offenders home, makes sure they are there, still live there and are not in possession/ violation of their release. If they get to a house, the S.O. no longer lives there then there is a warrant, in place, for his arrest.
The most important thing that any of us can do to protect are children against any predators it to know where they are and who they are with. Always go with gut instinct. If lil Susie's dad/ mom/ brother/ or any other family member gives you bad vibes, have lil Susie over to your house. Opps I got on sorry. I have a really bad habit of doing this when it comes to this subject.
My mom was a working/ abused/ young mother and was unable to protect me from her husband (very divorced as soon as she found out) so this is one of those subjects that I crawl all over.
If anyone needs any information on S.O. please let me know and I will get it to you.
I really am sorry about that it is just one of those subjects that could make the kindest of hearts
to you all for letting me rant/ vent/ run the mouth.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm sorry.
