Ipod Touch

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: Who has an Ipod Touch?

I have been saving my allowance emlaugh.gif for one and almost have enough saved. My friend just bought one and loves it, but she really hasn't had it long.

I'm just wondering if you like it and how it compares to the other Ipods out there. thumb.gif

Crystalina replied: I didn't know there was an iPod Touch. unsure.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: It's exactly like the Iphone, without the phone. It even has wi-fi thumb.gif

lisar replied: I have it. 30gb

I LOVE IT!!! Dont know how I ever lived without it. It is much easier to use as I am driving down the road. Mine has a lock on the top of it so that you dont accidentaly touch it when you are doing something

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I doesn't come in a 30gb, but the Classic does.

Crystalina replied: What's the price difference between that and the iPhone? I'm thinking why wouldn't you just get the phone?

holley79 replied: DH was talking about the Ipod Touch last night.

lisar replied:
I dont have the phone. But I hear they are really nice. I havent even seen one yet. But I would love to see one.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: The 8gb is $300 and the 16gb is $400. My contract with Sprint is up in Aug and DH can switch service at anytime, but he doesn't want AT&T. He's hoping that they will unlock it soon and make it available to more carriers. The phone is $400, but your cell phone bill runs at least $300 with the Iphone (from what I've heard).

I really don't want the phone, but I would like for DH to have it. wink.gif It does make more sense for him to get the phone b/c he needs a new one anyway.

I don't know...he and I have been over this a million times. tongue.gif

Crystalina replied:
That's nuts! I really wanted that phone also! mad.gif

grapfruit replied:
HOLY CRAP! ohmy.gif No thank you!!

Crystalina replied:
maybe we could go halfsies on it. You get it for one billing cycle and I get it for the other. emlaugh.gif Maybe we can get other members involved and really split the cost! thumb.gif

Anthony275 replied: ha wow i would never get one considering i have more music than can possibly stored on one of those
it scratches really easily though

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Yeah, I don't carry my entire library around with me and wouldn't need that many gb for the entire library anyway. tongue.gif

They really don't scratch easily and they make protective covers for them. wink.gif

Anthony275 replied: yeah, the clear plastic material covers leave marks on the screen wink.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Really? It's not a hard plastic. It's like that flimsy static cling stuff that is usually shipped on cameras and that type of thing to protect the screen.

Anthony275 replied: the thin thin layer that you get when you first get a cellphone thats over the screen? how would that protect it?

i had a hard cover plastic thing that went over the screen, messed up my old ipod and i could barely see the screen. yay i got a new one about 6 months after that, used one of those really hard cases and it hasn't messed this one

TLCDad replied: Why would someones bill be $300 with an IPhone. Its only $20 for the unlimited data plan so unless you used alot of regular phone call minutes or too many text messages (which you can get a cheap unlimited plan for that too) there should be no reason your bill is that high.

I just recently switched to AT&T for our cell phones because Sprint in our area was getting very bad reception and switching to AT&T solved that problem, plus I too want to get the IPhone but I am wating for the 3G version to come out. AT&T in my area is all 3G and that is the fastest data rate.

I already have the data plan on my current cell phone which is 3G and it will hold me over until the IPhone is 3G but I definitely love the IPhone. My friend and I played with one at the AT&T store and if it was 3G I would of bought one right there.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Hmmmm....not sure. It might be b/c they have several phones on the plan. Or it could be the plan they chose (with more anytime mins...) dunno.gif I guess it doesn't have to be that much, huh? I think unlimited texts is $20 initially and $10 a phone. That would jack the bill up. Do you have to pay for data for each phone on the plan?

I know our bill with Sprint runs high ...without all the data added to it, but Sprint is known to be more expensive than most plans. We've never had any problems as far as reception or anything and that's why DH wants to stay with them.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I agree, where did you hear $300 Aimee. That's really high.

Well DH just bought himself an Ipod last week and loves it! He was hesitant because he also doesn't care for AT&T, but they actually have some really good plans setup for the Iphone. So good, that he keeps asking me if I want one so that we can get the family rate. We would actually save money monthly if I switch...and as far as the high price tag for the thing, he says it's pretty much paid for when you consider how much we would save on our monthly service.

Sorry I don't know the actual cost... blush.gif

Anthony275 replied: probably calling so much caused it to go so high

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I think my DH has a 8gb Iphone. I would say go for the phone if you're going to pay for the touch. wink.gif It really is an AMAZING little machine!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: My contract is up in October. I'm just going to get the touch. I need a new Ipod now and I don't care about the phone part and I don't need the data and everything.... DH won't switch service, either. rolleyes.gif He needs a new phone with data, but he could care less about the Ipod part and all that other stuff. It's a cool phone, but I guess it's not for everyone.

MotherForever2043 replied: I got Esther the ITouch for Christmas. I'm actually not sure how mang "gb" it is blush.gif tongue.gif I had a friend help me pick it out. All I know is that it cost me $299.99 plus tax. I'll go ask Esther about the whole "gb" thing.

Be right back......
