sparkys2boys wrote: for a skateboard do you think? Cameron soooo wants one for his b-day and I am on the fence post about it. He would wear his helmet and elbow/knee pads at all times but gosh.... he's my baby and that seems like such a bigger boy thing
holley79 replied: We got my nephew a mini board when he was about 6.
BAC'sMom replied: Nope I don't think so. My oldest son got his first skateboard when he was 5.
Anthony275 replied: nope not young
luvmykids replied: Colt will be six in two weeks and has suddenly become obsessed with skateboards...my only problem is we don't really have a whole lot of smooth area for him to do it, so he'd probably try to take it down the rocks or something
sparkys2boys replied: I know huh.. where the heck did it come from? All of a sudden he is mister cool, needs a skateboard and asked me if he can have cool dude clothes now Umm helloooooo your turning 6 not 16
luvmykids replied: LOL at the clothes
Colt has this cheesy little skateboard, I have no idea where it came from, it's not even real I think it's more like to put on a shelf or something. Anyway, he had it outside last night on top of this huge flat rock we have and he was really just pushing off the rock and falling off, but he was convinced it was a trick
mom21kid2dogs replied: Olivia has had a "convertible" skateboard since she was 5. It has a handle that folds under to convert from a scooter to a skateboard.
sparkys2boys replied: OMG dont tell me that Monica!! Thats what I am worried about, its not the play old riding a skateboard it Cam thinking he is Tony Hawks.. Which he is OBSESSED with to. Lord.. I can see gray hairs coming
luvmykids replied: Oh that was pretty mild, a few days ago he took his little three wheeler thingy straight down a hill....no path or anything, just rocks. He is a daredevil and if one of these stunts doesn't kill him his mama will
sparkys2boys replied: my heart just stopped for u I find the past few months Cam is more dare devil to and it freaks me out Logan was so not the kid to do dangerous things, and still won't. UGHHHH to but the skateboard or not
Calimama replied: I don't think it's too young. Get him a good fitting helmet though.
austins mom replied: My son is 8 and he has been riding since he was 4 almost 5. hes doing pretty good. no injury's yet.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I don't think it is too young. I have brothers and they have all had some sort of 'trick riding' obsession since even before this age!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Zach has had one for about a year and a half now. Course he's sorely lacking in space to use it... lol He used to do it in the parking lot in front of our condo... but now we have a driveway.. except it's kind of on a hill... so really he can only do it in the back sunroom, because he's not allowed to in the house.
lisar replied: I dont think he is to young. As long as he wears the protective gear. My sisters son had one at that age I believe.
