Is it bad to be thinking "HAHA" to myself?
MommyToAshley wrote: Remember the "Dance Mom" that made me feel bad because I couldn't sew the belt on Ashley's costume? She literally said, "All you do is thread the needle, tie a knot, and pull the thread through the material... anyone can do it" She made me feel pretty small at the time.
I ended up taking the costume to a tailor at the dry cleaners. The alterations lady steamed the costume, sewed the straps, and the belt on for $10. I couldn't beat that! (Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks again for the offer to help Di!)
Well.... today I saw that same mom at the dance studio. She was coming in to get her daughter's pic taken as I was leaving. Anyways, she stopped me and asked me how I got Ashley's belt on. Apparently, she had trouble and her daughter's belt was off-center and the ribbon was bunched up. (The lady that did the alterations said it was in a difficult place to sew because where the spandex type material meets the tutu material) I told her about the dry cleaner that did Ashley's costume and she is taking her daughter's costume there before the recital to have it fixed. I wanted so badly to say "HAHA!", but held my composure. But, I did think it to myself.
My3LilMonkeys replied: You're a better woman than I am - I probably would have said "All I did was thread the needle, tie a knot and pull the thread through the material - anyone can do it"
Glad to hear everything worked out so well with her costume. Will we get to see the pictures?
1lilpeanut2love replied: LOL!! You really showed her up!! Glad you found someone to sew the things on the costume! You couldn't be that deal. Can't wait to see pics!
Celestrina replied: No, you're not bad, you're human!
CantWait replied: You're a big girl DeeDee, I would have said "easy, just like you said it would be" and not even told her about the taylor. Glad it turned out well.
Nina J replied: I would have been thinking the same thing. You're obviously a nicer person, you didn't make her feel small like she made you feel
kimberley replied: me too!
i can't wait to see pics!
mammag replied: That's exactly what I was thinking. You're a good woman!

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Thats tooo funny!! I would have said the same thing you did, and laughed to myself the whole time knowing my kids costume looked way better because I asked for help when I needed it!!
JP&KJMOM replied: I would have been laughing to myself but would have done the same thing you did. Glad it all worked out for you anyway! I bet she looks like a doll!
MommyToAshley replied: Of course!!!! The professional pics will be in around the 25th of this month.
The recital is next weekend. They don't allow photos or video during the recital (You have to buy their video), but I can take video and photos during the dress rehersal. So, hopefully I will have lots of pictures to bombard you with.

I agree with everyone else I would've said this to her!

Kaitlin'smom replied: Ya I probably would have thrown it back at her and not told her about the dry cleaner taylor. Good for you for thakign the high road and YOU SO DESERVE THE LAUGH go ahead and enjoy it. (Oh and anytime)
TheOaf66 replied: probably better that you were the bigger person in that situation
C&K*s Mommie replied: You definately were the bigger person in that situation, but depending on my mood I might have said what Pam had said about but if I were in a 'be-nice' mood I would have done what you had done and would have been honest about the tailor.
Look forward to the pics, too!
PrairieMom replied: I would have kept the drycleaner my dirty little secret!
luvmykids replied: Same here. I admire you for sharing your tailors number with her!
holley79 replied: Oh I would have been HA HAing all over.
