Isabella fell off the porch!

I was trying to get to her as soon as she got close to the railing but didn't make it. She is acting fine now. Is there anything I should look for to make sure she didn't hurt anything? Edited: Have you checked her eyes to make sure they're not dilated incase she has a concussion? That's the only thing I can think of to check to make sure she's ok since she seems fine.

jen replied: Accidents happen, you shouldn't be hard on yourself you are not a horrible parent! Since she hit her head I would only let her sleep for an hour at a time, I think you are supposed to wake them up every hour, that is what we had to do with my little brother years ago. I am sure someone will have more reliable advice! I am glad she is ok!

if she starts vomitting take her to the hospital. she may have a concussion. and if you do the wake up every 2 hours thing, ask her her name, who you are, where she is. if she answers them all right the first couple of times, i am sure she will be fine.

When Ashley fell and hit her head on the sidewalk last fall, I called the Ped. She told me with any kind of head injury the symptoms to look for were:

Eyes not dialating evenly with a change in light, vomiting, and watch if she acts lethargic or doesn't seem to know or understand things she normally would.

And, I did wake her up every two hours just to make sure she was ok.
