Isabella had a reaction to her shots
aspenblue1 wrote: On friday here fever went up to 101.5 she was so pitiful. When she woke up on saturday she had a rash, and still a high fever so I called her ped. They had me come in and told me the rash and fever were a reaction to her chicken pox vac.
amynicole21 replied: Oh no!! Does her rash look like normal chicken pox? I hope they don't itch Poor baby... I hope she feels better soon!
Kaitlin'smom replied: aww poor thing...big hugs.
coasterqueen replied: Poor Isabella!!!! I hope she feels better soon. See, this is the very reason why I was so scared for Kylie to get this shot. We did it and thank goodness it didn't bother her at all, but UGH! Frustrates you, though.
I guess it is still better than getting the actual chicken pox, though.
Give her ((HUGS)) from me.
aspenblue1 replied: They look like just like chicken pox and spread really fast. In one night they were all over her stomach and back. Then all over face and arms.
~CrazieMama~ replied: Oh my!!! Poor Isabelle. Hugs to you and her.
coasterqueen replied: I forgot to add this earlier. My SIL and I were talking about chicken pox this weekend and I guess I wasn't aware that they can still get chicken pox with the vaccine, just not as bad as if they hadn't had the shot. I guess that makes sense, but I didn't really think about it.
She also told me that babies who get chicken pox before they are 1 or 2 (she couldn't remember) then they can get chicken pox again later. That was weird I thought. My nephew got them before he was 1! He hasn't gotten them again, though. He hasn't had the vaccine because its new and he is 8.
I learn something new every day
booey2 replied: Sorry to hear she had a reaction. That is one of the reasons I won't be giving my boys that vaccination. We also have to pay for that one, all the others are covered by our government and my philosphy is that if it was really really safe and mandatory the gov. would pay for it, so we don't do it.
DansMom replied: That sounds just dreadful! I hope she feels better soon.
Mommieto2Girls replied: Poor Isabella.... I hope she feels better soon... Keep us posted.
Schnoogly replied: Oh I'm sorry! We won't be getting that vaccine either--I hope to deliberately expose him before he's in school so he gets it and then hopefully won't get it again!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Oh how awful. I hope she feels better soon.
mummy2girls replied: (((HUGS))) that is one big reason im iffy about giving jenna that shot..i have until novb 3rd to decide...
ediep replied: awww poor baby. I have heared that is a common reaction to the vaccine. Think of it this way...now if she is exposed later, she will only get a mild case.
CantWait replied: awwwww hope she's feeling better soon. Anthony has his first shots tomorrow Keep us posted on how she's feeling.
MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, poooor baby! I sure do hope she is feeling better. But, don't feel bad about giving her the shot. I am sure what she has now is a lot less worse than the chicken poxs. I was one of those unusual cases where I had them 3 times! So, I think you did the right thing by giving her a 90% chance of never getting them. However, I am soooooo sorry she had a reaction to the vaccine. I hope she is feeling better soon!
<<<<HUGS>>>>
Heather replied: Oh poor Isabella! Big hugs!!
chloe&tysmommy replied: hope she's feeling better soon, big hugs
amynicole21 replied: How is Isabella doing now? Is her rash gone yet?
aspenblue1 replied: She is doing much better. Her rash is all gone. Thanks for asking.
