It finally happened - First Tantrum!
moped wrote: And it was sort of funny...................he wanted to play in his room and I wanted to get him ready for bed so I shut the door and walked him towards his PJ's and diaper.........and he sat down and put his head between his legs and LOST IT! I walked away and sat on the couch and it lasted about 30 seconds and he came over and said "up", so I figured it was ok if he was done with his little freak out........and he kissed me and then brought the PJ's and diaper over.............LOL.............
six_kids_at_28 replied: Well if your so excited over tantrums would you like mine? Their freeeee
moped replied: No I wasn't excited, but I have been told to ignore them when they do this so I was looking forward to seeing what he might do - MAN he got mad when I walked away and ignored him - but I think it worked ok..............

kimberley replied: lol hard not to laugh the first few times, isn't it?
redchief replied: Once he realizes the tantrums don't bring about the desired effect, he'll stop. It takes a lot of energy to send a good one out and I've found most kids would rather spend the energy playing. Sounds like your reaction brought the desired result.
MommyToAshley replied: I find it so hard not to laugh .... Ashley has only had a handful of tantrums, but I find it really hard not to laugh when she does.
Sounds like your strategy worked though
My2Beauties replied: I do that when Hanna throws one - I say ok If your'e going to act like that mommy will leave you alone now - off I go and a few minutes later here she comes - fine as ever!
Kaitlin'smom replied: yep it can make kait sooo mad when I walk away but she sure stops faster.
MM'sMama replied: Oh now aren't those just so fun .
