It happened! She bit me!

All of a sudden I felt her bite me in the boob through the nursing bra. It wasn't on my nipple, but it still hurt. I guess she was teaching me a lesson... LOL I shouldn't ask her if she wants to nurse and then not offer up the goodies...LOL. I won't do that again.

MommyToAshley replied: Well, I did take a long pause after she was "in position". I think I talked to DH for at least a minute or two ... when you are waiting to eat, that is a long time. DH said that she might have thought she had to gnaw her way through the bra so she figured she had better use her teeth. LOL

I'm sorda hoping that she doesn't get teeth for a long time so I can nurse her up till at least her first birthday. I am freaked about babies with teeth nursing because....ok, I'll share but it's awful.....

My grandma told me (while I was nursing, then 3 month old Katherine) that my oldest uncle bit off half of her nipple when she was nursing him! OMG! Grandma! I'm not sure what gave me the willies more, picturing having half of my own nipple bitten off or the image that instantly popped into my head of my 89 year old grandmas boobs with one half-nip. BLECH! I don't even want to think about it. Why would she tell me that? Why?

booey2 replied: Sorry she nipped you. She must have been hungry. DS is just now starting to get out of the biting stage at 18 months. Tho i couldn't nurse so he never got the chance to nip me there. My sister is now nursing an 11 month old and she hasn't been nipped yet and my cousin nurses her children til well past their 2nd or 3rd birthday and I don't think she has been bit yet.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: OUCH! My DD has been doing that to me the last couple of days! I guess they are just trying out those new teeth! What I usually do is just latch her off and wait a few seconds and then latch her back on! So far it seems to have helped a little bit!

maestra replied: Jaci has bitten me a few times. The first time she did it- I told her NO! And she laughed at me. Silly girl.

Now she only does it ocassionally, but she has 5 teeth now so it hurts more.


The thing that she does that we can't stand is that she likes to grind her teeth. What a horrible sound!
