It's Good, But it's Bad News all at the Same Time - Just a Quick Up-

The bad news is that it's a relapse of the Myelodysplastic Syndrome. On Friday they went ahead with the Donor Lymphocyte Infusions (DLI) and until Claudias Stem cells start to work again Spencer will need repeated transfussions of blood and platelets. The hope is that Spencer will develop Graft-Versus-Host Desease and this will stimulate his bone marrow and immune system to start working again. If this doesn't work, then he will have to have another bone marrow transplant.

We are heading home tomorrow and Spencer will be monitered closely in Thunder Bay.

The warnings about what we need to watch for with Spencer that the doctor gave us are pretty scary. I'm not going to be able to go back to work and Spencer is going to need to be monitered very closely. We will be back in Toronto on August 23 for a follow up appointment.
