It's official
MomToMany wrote: We turned the heat on . It is only 50 degrees today, and it's going to be 40 tomorrow with SNOW. But it won't last, it's going to warm up to about 60 this coming weekend.
It's all nice & toasty in here now! I LOVE this time of year!
5littleladies replied: Oohhh, I was wondering if you were up where the snow is headed. I love this time of year too! I had the heat on the other day for about an hour and I'm sure we will have it on again in the next couple of days since our lows are supposed to get into the lower 30's. Can't say I'm excited about the gas bill though.
amynicole21 replied: Ugh! I'm so jealous! I'll be glad when it's cool enough to turn the AC off, but that won't be for another month or so.
party-of-six replied: I LOVE the fall!!! Warm days and cool nights!! I am obviously a little farther south than you...actually closed the house up and turned on the ac....the humidity level was just getting too high for us. saturday though....highs in the 60's!!! YEAH!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I've been turning the heat on for a couple weeks, too. My house cools off WAY to fast. I love this time of year -- I'm pretty scared of how awful the heating bills are going to be this year though.
jcc64 replied: I too love the cold weather, which is one of the reasons I live in the mountains, but this year, I fear the oil bills BIG TIME!
MomToMany replied: Yes, this heating season is going to be difficult for some. Do you guys have a heating assistance program down there? I think it's through the county.
We are looking to get an alternative burning stove. Right now we have an outdoor woodstove which circulates hot water through the floor in the garage & into the house, then the furnace blows the hot air from the hot water through the house. This new stove will burn corn, wood pellets, paper pellets, or soybeans instead of wood (which is going to get REAL expensive). Corn is MUCH cheaper than wood!
My2Beauties replied: YEah I have been turning our heat on here and there the past few days, but it's been pretty warm and humid here during the daytime still - in the 70's! But the nights are wonderful! I love Fall!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I dream of cooler weather we had some cilly mornigns last week but its been in the 80's and humid the past 3 days so the AC is on I just want to turn it off and open some windows let the bill get cheep for a month. Oh and I am very happy I dont have gas heating, i just have a heat pump and electice for back up much better on the bills.
gr33n3y3z replied: I want snow
ions_momma replied: Wow! Snow already! It is still pretty warm here. I wish it would cool off soon though! I dont like this weather. I either like it hot enough to go swimming, or cold enough to go skiing Not the in between stuff!
jenn3 replied: Oh i LOVE snow! I wish it was cold like that here Where do you live?
MomToMany replied: Northern Minnesota! In the middle of no where, unless you count woods as somewhere .
Maddie&EthansMom replied: We won't see snow til February. Our temps will drop Weds night and won't get out of the 60's on Thurs. Hopefully it will stay that way for awhile. I just love this weather, too. We like to open our windows at night. It will be a LONG time before our heat gets turned on. Our bills are lower in the winter.
holley79 replied: Oh what I wouldn't give for that kind of weather. If it drops below 90 right now we think it's a cold snap.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: It never got above 42 today. I've had the heat on at 64 degrees since Friday.
A&A'smommy replied: ahh you lucky girl its STIL in the 90s here
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I don't know about lucky. Personally, I think it is going to be a long cold winter for us here.
MommyToAshley replied: SNOW already!
It's sunny and humid here...we are wearing shorts and have the AC on. It's weird, I remember it being a lot cooler in October when I was a kid. But, this is that crazy time of year where it can be really cold at night and hot during the day.
