Its the start.... - weight in 04'

Kaitlin'smom wrote: I am not asking this week for gain or losses. I just want to see who all is on the weight loss wagon. This week is just check in that your on and if you want to post current weight and goals. I will start a new topic every tuesday for check in to see who lossed and who gained. I am hoping this will help all of us who want/need to drop some weight.

I also had another idea of a weight loss buddie, where if need we could either call, email or pm them when were are tempted or if we are able to have a buddie in the same area get together. If your interested let me know and if you would prefer someone close or if it does not matter. Then once i know who all is interested I can find out locations and try and match people.

I am really hoping this will help us all.

If anyone else had ideas please let me know.

LETS ALL BE LOOSERS (of weight) IN 2004!

booey2 replied: Sounds great to me. I am up again at my weigh in last night but am starting fresh today. I am going to try and lose 75 pounds by June. Sounds like a lot but I have a lot to lose. The buddy idea sounds great count me in for that too.

jem0622 replied: What do you plan to do to lose? Weight Watchers? Atkins? South Beach? Just watching your intake and exercise?

Once I am allowed to work out then I will. In a week or so.

Weight Watcher member here since June 2002 and exercise.

ediep replied: me, me me.....I am on the band wagon too!!! I just want to lose a few pounds and tone up a bit.

Dh is on South Beach diet and has lost about 8-10 pounds since Christmas!!!! HE is really doing well

aspenblue1 replied: Sounds good to me.

Kaitlin'smom replied: oaky I have a list started so I can check up on you each week, still time to join.

Oh my over all goal is to loose 30lbs want at least 1/2 that by May 1 smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: I'm in for weighing every week smile.gif I lost most of the weight I wanted to last year, but I have 10 pounds I want to lose by June 1st!!!!

I weighed myself yesterday and I was 134, so actually I want to lose 9 wink.gif I want to be 125 by June 1st. Hehehehe.

I am using WW with exercise smile.gif

Don't think I would be a good buddy, though, so I won't participate in that sad.gif

mckayleesmom replied: What is this South Beach diet buzz....what is it and how much does it cost wacko.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I`m not sure how much I weight exactly...haven`t had a chance to weigh myself since before having Emilie... lol

So.... If I go to my mom`s tonight, I can use her scale...but I`m thinking around 190 or so! dunno.gif

I`m planning on coming down to 150 by May 15th. I have a nice dress I`d like to fit in by the time of my high school reunion... lol and I konw I it into it at 150 pounds. biggrin.gif

If I lose more, bonus!

I plan on just plain old watching what I eat, lowering my portion size, no junk (other than the occasional little bit - i I cut it out completely, I`ll binge...so I`d just reather have a bite here and there and not feel like I`m missing out... ) and some exercise.

Schnoogly replied: Hey Daddy_of_Schnoogly lost 10lbs in a week on the south beach diet. he's down almost 20 I think. We really like it!!! It's so easy, and you really feel different fast--no cravings, and the "hunger" feeling even feels different. It's weird, but in a good way! It's a version of a low carb diet like Atkins but after the first two weeks you can have some "good" carbs--no white bread or sugar, but whole grains are OK. It costs nothing except you should buy the book. It's a bestseller so you can get it just about anywhere. There is an online version too but I don't know how much they charge.

I have lost a ton (like 7lbs) this week because I've been so sick with that stomach bug. My pants fit now, yippee. At least I got something out of horrible suffering.

Zach's mom, be careful of losing weight too fast while BFing. About a pound a week, maximum, or else you can affect your supply. Just FYI.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm on the wagon as well. I started counting my points yesterday and I have a whole bunch of weight to lose.

kit_kats_mom replied: I go for my after holiday weigh in at Weight Watchers tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it. I was only 3 lbs from my goal but we've taken a trip to chicago (Pizza mmmmmm), and then the holidays....it's gonna be ugly. dry.gif

Carrie-Ann, the good thing about having alot of weight to lose on WW is that you get more points! LOL rolling_smile.gif

One tip to you WW gals. I go to the meetings and I use the website. It's a little more expensive but the meal plans on the website are totally worth it. I print them off every week, make a shopping list and keep that weeks plans in the kitchen. that way, I have all the stuff on hand to eat and I don't have to journal (I just check it off of the list). It also helps me when I'm packing DH's lunches (he's doing the plan with me too). The stuff on them is really easy to cook and pretty tasty for the most part. It's also really filling!
I'm collecting my "favorites" and those get cooked pretty frequently.

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
LOL!!! Yeah I know. I'm looking at the points for my weight goal and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to live on that little food. rolling_smile.gif I guess by that point my stomach and body will be used to it. It helps that my Mom is a WW leader. She's had the weight off for over 2 years now. Tonight I wanted pizza so I figured out the points I would have to spend to eat it and then made sure I had them when the time came. I really enjoyed that pizza and I still have some points left. It's a great program and I highly reccomend it. I lost 30 lbs. the last time I was serious about it.

coasterqueen replied:
Okay, I know I couldn't do this diet cuz I have to have WHITE BREAD! rolling_smile.gif *I* couldn't survive without it emlaugh.gif

mummy2girls replied: I need to get back on the wagon... I need to lose at 50lbs to lose to get to my goal of 140lbs...I will have to eat alot less junk and more healthy food. Im going to try to find my thread of the diary diet i posted because i need to get back on it.... i gained back everything i lost because i began eating poorly...bad bad!!

I weigh 188 lbs right now.

MommyToAshley replied: Me! Me! Me! I am jumping back on the wagon. I want to lose 25 lbs. I had lost most of it, but I gained it back. mad.gif I just seemed to be hungry all the time... and I can't blame it on BF because Ashley only BF once a day now (before bed).

I want to start eating healthier again. I really need to give up my A&W Rootbeer. I was addicted to coke (the cola) before I got PG and then switched ot Rootbeer because it didn't have the caffiene, but it still has the empty calories.

So, my plan is to slowly give up the rootbeer, drink more water, eat healthy. I chase Ashley all over the house, which is good excercise. But, I need to do some type of formal excercise that will target my mid section. I could use some help there... any ideas what would be good?

I like the idea of a weight loss buddy... count me in. You know where I live... Ohio. smile.gif

kimberley replied: thumb.gif add me to the weight loss wagon, but i will have to go out and buy a scale since i don't have one in the house ohmy.gif

i hope to eat better and exercise my butt off doing Tae Bo to lose 30lbs by summer and be toned. i wonder what i weigh now? unsure.gif

i have been really hungry too but didn't know BF can make you more hungry... thx for the excuse Dee Dee! rolling_smile.gif thumb.gif

i am in Toronto and ready to be a buddy biggrin.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: YAY! I went and weighed in today and I didn't gain anything over the holidays, or if I did, I've lost it in this last week biggrin.gif . I maintained what I was 3 weeks ago! I have 7 lbs until I make my goal. I can do that, right? unsure.gif

A&A'smommy replied: i am but i have to go get me a scale when dh gets paid. i HATE being overwieght this is a really hard thing for me i was REALLY skinny before i had alyssa so i really need you guys now my confidence has hit the floor!

kimberley replied: ((((BIG HUGS)))) Jessyann, i know exactly how you feel. after having 2 kids in 2 yrs, it wasn't until the little one was 4 that i really got my body back the way i wanted it, then i got pg with Jade within the year ohmy.gif bawling.gif

let's work our buns off together... literally rolling_smile.gif grouphug.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
You can do it!!! That is soooo awesome, only 7 more pounds. thumb.gif You must be so proud of yourself. You will be the inspiration for the rest of us!

MommyToAshley replied: JessyAnn, I know exactly how you feel. My self-esteem is very low right now because of my weight. I have never felt like this before, I have always been skinny. I was always active, but I also had one of those metabolisms that let me eat anything I wanted and I didn't gain an ounce. It's funny, back then I didn't even care for anything sweet. Well, things sure have changed now and I need to watch what I eat, and wouldn't you know it ... NOW I start craving the sweets.

Kaitlin'smom replied: Wow we have a good group of people who want to drop some weight. I really want to do something to modivate everyone and myself and keep us all loosing. I will have to think of something.

I only had a few people interested in the buddies so I guess that out...

well good luck to all...see you on tuesday!

booey2 replied:
I am sorry, I didn't mention that I wanted in on the buddies but I do.

Just a side note for all the losers and WW people, 1 Oreo cookie = 1 point on the WW plan. Just thought I would share a sweet I love, also I have a very simple, easy recipe for some really good, high fibre, CHOCOLATE muffins, 1 point each if you make 24. If anyone is interested I can post it either here or in the recipe forum, let me know.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Can I jump on the wagon in April? I'm sure I will have some weight to lose after Ethan is born. Especially since I needed to lose before I got pg. wink.gif I want to be down to 125-130. I plan on using WW. I would love a buddy, but will be getting in on it late. sad.gif

maliksmommy replied: I would definately like to jump on the band wagon. I have not weighed myself but my goal is to go down a size. I am a 14 right now and would like to get to a 12. And then once I am there I am sure I will want to get down another size:) I will weigh myself though tonight. I have been doing pretty good. Not eating fast food and drinking water all day at work instead of Mt. Dew. I haven't had one since Sat. and I am doing pretty good! Good luck to everyone, I know we can all do it with everyone's support biggrin.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
WOOHOO!!!!!!! Oh yeah you can do it. 7 lbs is easy. That is amazing that you did so well over the Holdiays. You can be my inspiration Cary. rolling_smile.gif I'm on day 4 and I'm actually starting to feel better. Oh and I would like to jump into this weight loss buddies thing as well. It's great when you have someone you can call when your staring at that doughnut and it's calling your name. rolling_smile.gif

booey2 replied:
Weigh to go Cary, you can most definitely do it, you come this far already, keep up the great job thumb.gif . I hope to be in your shoes this time next year.

kit_kats_mom replied: Thanks guys! It was actually pretty easy so far. I've "cheated" alot but K's penchace for breastfeeding has helped me to burn off those excess cals. I have changed my lifestyle alot though and although I think I will probably have to make some pretty big adjustments to my eating when she decides to wean.

One of my biggest keys to success has been to give myself a "free day" each week. That way we can go to dinner with friends, have a few drinks and not worry too much about it. I still usually make decent choices, but I am not fanatical about it. Now that WW has changed their progam to include those "extra" points it's kinda the same thing. rolling_smile.gif

booey2 replied:
Boy you sure sound a lot like the way I feel towards ww, I used to even give myself one day but now I don't have to. Congrats again. thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
sure can see you on the list in april!

Kaitlin'smom replied: okay all who wants a buddy pm me and let me know if you want someone close or if you care, where you are city state country..ect and once I get everone who want one I will let you know yours so you can exchange info.

I will make a dead line of Monday, then I will send out the info on Tuesday.....sound good to all?

3xsthefun replied: Hope its not to late to join in, I need to loose some weight also. I want to loose some before June 6th. I'm not sure what diet or excerises I'm going to do yet. I want to be down to at least 130 lbs. or so.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
