Jade doesn't like tummy time...

TIA,
Schnoogly replied: Have you tried propping her up on a boppy pillow? Iain hated not being able to see anything. Well, he hated being put down at all LOL but he seemed to like being on the boppy for short periods. I think it was easier to hold himself up that way.
maliksmommy replied: I have heard that those Boppy pillows are great too. Malik never had one but we also used different toys that were specifically for tummy time. Just keep trying and I think she will get used to it, just don't give up. Even if it is for just a couple of minutes at a time.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin did not like tummy time at first, it took her a while to get used to it, so I onny did short periods at first and gradually got longer. I would try the boppy pillow, see if that helps for at least short times.
DansMom replied: Daniel hated tummy time always, and he still was crawling at 7 and a half months. It's good to encourage them, but I wouldn't push it if she doesn't like it yet---there's plenty of time!
Maya's Mama replied: Maya loves tummy time most when she's on our chests laying down looking at our faces. You run the risk of getting a bit of spit up on you, but she loves seeing our faces so close that it's worth it. Also, if you come down to her level and interact with her a bit, making it a game, that might help. Good luck!!!
kimberley replied: thanks everyone! i think i will have to invest in a boppy. we have tried different toys and are always down on her level but it doesn't make her like it any better she doesn't even really like being held over the shoulder either... all she wants to do is lie on her back or sit up lol she is stubborn like mama
CantWait replied: Anthony didn't like tummy time either, still doesn't really. We just did it for shorter periods of time. Sometimes on the floor, sometimes on my chest or on knees. Sometimes it was just the atmosphere that helped. Like instead of being in the living room, we go to his room. Good Luck
5littleladies replied: Brianna didn't like tummy time either. And I tried everything to get her to like it. I just gave her time and she eventually got used to it. Good luck with Jade.
ediep replied: Jason didn't really like tummy time either but his ped said just do 1-2 minutes at a time if that is all he will tolerate. Thats what I ended up doing and now he is a belly sleeper!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Claudia didn't like tummy time either! So I never really put her on her tummy, now I wish I had, because people have said they get used to it. I would slowly ease into it gradually.
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley HATED tummy time. She would scream the minute she was put on her tummy, which would probably explain why she sat up before she rolled over. LOL
I had to get down on the floor and play with her and find something to catch her interest. Every once in a while she liked this mirror (it still hangs on her crib now) ... let me see if I can find a pic of it.
Maybe you can find something like this mirror....
MommyToAshley replied: Ooops, here is the mirror
