Jade has finally figured out how to pedal her - Tric....Finally....

DansMom replied: Ouch!! That sounds so painful! I hope Jade's lip heals quickly. Daniel is just figuring out the whole pedaling/steering business. However, he rides his trike in the basement (as there's a foot of snow outside). So he just runs into the wall.

I meant to tell you I have a friend whose DH is stationed in Hawaii and she just left to go visit him. What base are you at?

kit_kats_mom replied: Rock on Jade!! K wont' even ride hers, she prefers to push it down the sidewalk and "hold tricycles hand" but she still can't reach the pedals anyway.

What would you say Tammy? About 20 mins. on a good day? We are on the same side of the island.

Really? We are stationed at Hickam AFB, but we aren't too far from any of the other bases here on the island. Pearl Harbor is right next door, that is Navy. Schofield Barracks is about 18 miles away, that is Army. And the Marine Base is in K bay which could take about a half hour to get to depending on traffic.

I guess I am going to have to get my bike fixed so we can go for bike rides around the courtyard. I'm really excited about this. Maybe if she gets really good at it she will get an actual bike for her 3rd birthday.

WOW! I didn't realize they were all so close together! That is so cool. I'm pretty sure her DH is Army (maybe Marine) Ugh! I don't know. Anyway, she is Canadian. He just left Korea for Hawaii (training maybe?) Then he goes back to Korea. Her son is Ethan's age and she has been to Korea to visit (for 3 mos) and now has gone to Hawaii for a couple of weeks to visit her DH. Of course she takes her son with her. She is living in Canada with family until he gets stationed in Arizona in a few months.

That is probably more info than you wanted.

definitely 20 min. easy..the only problem we have getting together is jade and taven have always been on opposite schedules..i have an early riser..6:30-ish..jade sleeps in until 10 sometimes..when jade got up is usually when taven went down for his nap..but we haven't gotten together for a while and taven is napping later and later so we may actually get to see each other!!

LOL!!!! Yeah she was sleepimg until 10 for a bit there. That was nice for mommy who is a bit of a night owl. Now she is usually up between 8 and 8:30. She figured out how to open up her door so I either get a child in my face about that time or a pounding on the door. Mommy! Open Doors! Nap time is usally between 3 and 3:30. It would be great to get together again. We haven't in a long time. Since August at least. Yeah it was August 13th to be exact. Hurricane Charley was hitting Florida and Tammy and I met at the big sandbox. I needed some distraction since my parents were getting a cat 4 hurricane.

Yeah this isn't a very big island and there are two major mountain chains so you kind of have to work around those. You actually have to go through a mountain to get to K bay. It's quite a drive and really beautiful.

LOL!!!!!! That was a lot of info. Is there any way that you can find out for sure where she is at. It does sound like he's here for training if he's coming from Korea.
