TANNER'S MOM wrote: I am saying this with love! tongue.gif And playfully laugh.gif Everytime I see you say Mummy I think of the new Americain show Supper Nanny....and I break into and impression of her.

I love that accent and wish I could really hear you speak. I have started referring to myself as Mummy , with thumb.gif my funny half english and half redneck accent and the kids just giggle and giggle.

Josie83 replied: Lol! You go for it! Yu should know by now that you have to work hard to offend me. When I wa slittle I could never wait to be called Mummy . . . believe me the way Cassie says it is sooooo cute. Even though sometimes it seems like the last thing you want to hear! I have taken your post as a compliment btw! Go forth and be mummy as much as you want . . . it makes me laugh to think of you doing that where you are wink.gif xx PS - Just let me know when Tanner and the gang start using it too! wink.gif emlaugh.gif

ediep replied: LOL!!! I love Josies accent!!!! I wish I could hear it, It reminds me of Bridget Jones! I don't think I've ever heared a toddler with a British accent....maybe Prince William?? I'd love to hear Cassie too!!

texasp3 replied: Oh my gosh... reading Josie's posts just make me the best sort of homesick. I was actually raised in Malaysia and Singapore (former British colonies) and the English I learned to speak was more British than American.

I got into all sorts of trouble when I moved to America at 18 and no one could understand me, even though I was a US citizen whose parents were from Illinois and Mississippi! And I spoke perfectly proper English, mind you!! laugh.gif I still sometimes talk about putting stuff in the boot of my car, or checking under the bonnet. Those were the last to go out of my regular vocabulary, I think.

Anyway... I love reading your posts, Josie!! They really make me all fuzzy inside. biggrin.gif

TeagansMom609 replied: I love the Brit accent. Its so cool. I wish I had an accent. Ive been told I have a Jersey accent but I dont notice. I love watching the kids on the Teletubbies talk. (British)

Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin will sometimes call me mummy and I have no clue where she got it from but its cute. I have gotten mommy, mom, mummy...sometims it still amazes me that I am a mommy

I love the accent also and would love to hear Cassie speak wub.gif

Lollie replied: Wow...Josie Ive never actually thought of you having a British accent! rolling_smile.gif It must be so cool....

I spoke to a friend of mine who lives in the States recently and she couldnt really understand what I was saying!LOL To me its just a South African accent...

Hehehehehe.... biggrin.gif

Josie83 replied: Lol thanks everyone. Lollie you airhead wink.gif I have often wondered what YOUR accent is like, I don't know if I would understand it!! wink.gif laugh.gif xx

DansMom replied: Back to work, all of you, or I'll send you to the naughty mat... tongue.gif

(I heard about the "naughty mat" today from someone who watches that show---I need one of those!)

texasp3 replied: I don't think we're ever aware of our own accents. We just sound like plain speaking to ourselves. Unless you hear your recorded voice - have you ever done that - that's just plain WIERD!

I've lived all over the place, and tend to pick up accents quickly and then the friends I've just left tease me fiercely when I talk to them. To me, it never sounds like my accent has changed, but to everyone else it's sooo obvious. I've been in Texas 5 years now, so you can imagine the fun my friends from Illinois and Iowa have with me when we talk. Not to mention my family! laugh.gif Well, except my Dad's family in Mississippi - they still think I sound like a Yankee from up north! rolling_smile.gif

At Christmas I saw my brother and his family for the first time in ages and they LOVED making me say certain things over and over and then they'd just fall out in giggles.

Fortunately, my whole family loves languages and accents and for us it's just a big kick. Otherwise, I might get a bit miffed sometimes.

Josie83 replied: It scares me more hearing Cassie say something in the exact same accent, tone and manner that i would say it! I wish we could all talk to each other on here . . . imagine it! You lot would have a field day with my accent, you already find the words and phrases I use funny wink.gif laugh.gif emlaugh.gif It would be hysterical. I do sort of think of you all having accents, but when I read your posts "read" them in my accent if that makes sense . . . so Mommy really messes my headup! rolling_smile.gif wink.gif rolling_smile.gif xx

loveydad replied: THat accent rocks! I told Jos that I'd pay money to hear Cassie talk because it's that cute kid accent plus the other accent. THAT IS CUTE!

Josie83 replied:
Lol at loveydad! xx

MomToMany replied: rolling_smile.gif LOL, I love British accents! I love their use of the word "bloody" ! That cracks me up rolling_smile.gif !

Josie83 replied:
Yeah me and Jason use this A LOT (not around junior tho obviously wink.gif ) I love the word bloody! xx

My2Beauties replied: laugh.gif I crack up at your posts myself! Whenever I read mummy I think of an Egyptian being wrapped up in what looks like toilet paper! LOL LOL! I would love to hear both you and Cassie talk! I'm from Kentucky so you can only imagine my accent! I sound like a country bumpkin!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: rolling_smile.gif Maddie says "You've been very, very naughty" in a British accent. (thanks to Super Nanny) laugh.gif It is so cute! Just waiting for the day she bursts out with 'mummy'. wink.gif

Josie I love the way you talk. Scotty used to work with a lot of Brits. We had fun with them. We eat dinner with one of them on occasion. He is a wonderful cook, too. biggrin.gif

loveydad replied:
Why? is bloody a bad word? My kids say it and I don't yell at them. Is there something I should know!?!

Josie83 replied:
It is a v mild swear word over here. I wouldn't want Cassie to use it but we use it al the time. I wouldn't be to worried . . . they could say worse! wink.gif xx
