He is not circumsized and I know it's going to be a repeat of when Logan was 6.. same thing happended, got red, swollen, then majorly infected, and then we were told we would have to have him circumsized Let me tell you having a 6 year old done is NO fun at all. He was sore for two weeks and was miserable the whole time. I can see it happening with Cameron, just a feeling. I am not looking forward to this at all.
luvmykids replied: OMG, that sounds awful for him and you. I'm sorry
luvbug00 replied: awww I hope it an be remidied without any added pain.
Teesa®© replied: Sorry, no advice, mine were both circ'd.
mckayleesmom replied: ouch.....Is there maybe a hair or something caught around it?
A&A'smommy replied: poor guy!!!
sparkys2boys replied: No, I dont think so. I honestly think that the boys were just meant to be circ'd. Arghhhh one of those things that I thought I was doing good on when I said no when they were born. Well, that has come back to bite me you know where once.
booey2 replied: Wow, sorry you are having to go through this. Both our boys were done as baby's to so we wouldn't have to possibly face this. Hopefully it is just a minor infection and he doesn't have to be done.
jcc64 replied: I'm so sorry for the little guy. It does seem a little strange and unfortunate that both your guys had the same problem. Is it possible they're not cleaning well enough? I know we had to show our kids how to keep that area clean, as neither of my boys is circumcised either. Just a thought??????? Maybe you'd want to seek a 2nd opinion before submitting him to an unnecessary and painful procedure? In any event, best of luck and I hope he heals asap.
sparkys2boys replied: TMI for some .. sorry...
His foreskin is not lose and we have been told that you really should never move it back anyways to clean, that it is more harmful to do that. With our oldest at 6 it was still very tight and the doctor feared it was not going to let go it's self and if left it would be more harmful to have reoccuring infections then the surgery.
I am thinking that this is what is going on with Cameron to, beacuse in the tub I asked him if I could look at it and tried very gently to move it back and it would not at all yet either. But we were also told that some boys take longer.
I will for sure have him looked at by a specalist the same as with our oldest before I make any decisions.
Thanks for the concern
DillsMommy replied: poor little guy, that's gotta be painful.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: this happened to alex when he was younger...and it was a yeast infection...the dr never mentioned that he should be circ'd, maybe find out if it could be something that can be cleared up with medicine.
Bamamom replied: Poor little guy - hope he feels better soon!
Nina J replied: I hope it can be sorted out without having to be circumsised, but if that is what has to happen, at least it might prevent the same thing from occuring again.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: I don't think circumcision is the answer, and I'd definitely seek out a second AND third opinion before doing anyting drastic.
