Just had the scare of my life(so far) - Thomas to the hospital

booey2 wrote: ohmy.gif I just happen to be on the phone with my oldest Matthew (he is at the sitters all day because the teachers here have been locked out) and I hear Thomas scream bawling.gif . Matthew drops the phone and I hear all this commotion and finally my sitter picks of the phone and Thomas is screaming. She says she thinks he may have hurt his arm when she picked him up (this happened with my first as well, happens with other children too as their joints at this age are still kinda loose). Anyway she says she will call later. She calls back to say he was asleep but she still hears him moaning every so often (now its 12pm). Will call if it gets worse. DH is at home today with a day off so I tell her to get him and he will call me cause I have the Health cards with me. Thomas wakes up screaming, she calls DH, DH calls me, I hear my baby bawling.gif wailing, get all worked up, tell DH to go to the hospital and I'll meet him there. I am 20 minutes away in good weather, and it is pouring out. I get to the hospital and park in the visitors parking and had to walk all the way around the outside of the hospital to the emergency (because of the SARS outbreak) get there and DH and Thomas are sitting in the car. Well....... I am like "What the heck why aren't you in emerg?" He says that the nurse in triage did a quick check and he seemed fine so it was up to him if they stayed. He doesn't handle waiting around hospitals that well at the best of times, but now he had to wear a mask (again the SARS thingy) so he decided to wait in the car with Thomas and wait for me. So I check out my baby and he seems fine, I tossed puke.gif my lunch earlier on the way over and am still rather shaken. We are home now and we are going to monitor him and see how he is if it looks like he needs to go back we will. When we got home we went next door to the sitters and she looked as good as I felt. She even offered to keep the boys or send them home it was up to me. If they came home I only pay her for half the day. So I left them there cause they wanted to play and it gives me some time to rest and do some cleaning. Thanks for reading this far I just needed to get it out of my system. Oh ya now DH is on the couch snoring. snooze.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Oh My! I would have been too nervous to drive!!! I am glad it looks like it is not serious and I hope the little guy is feeling better! Let us know how he is doing later!

Kaitlin'smom replied: shoot, glad he seems ok. Yes please let us knwo if anything changes!

Hugs to you!

Mommieto2Girls replied: Wow, glad to hear he is ok. That would have scared me to death. Let us know how he is doing. grouphug.gif

supermom replied: Yep, keep us posted - that would be scary! grouphug.gif to you - try to not work too hard on the house unless it's theraputic.......otherwise, try to get a little rest too!

dhoppygirl replied: Wow, I would have been just as shaken as you!! Hope Thomas is okay..keep us posted!

booey2 replied: Thanks for all your well wishes. I didn't get much done around here. Played on the net a bit, posted a bit ( I couldn't stay away from here) and just vegged. (sp??) Thomas looks like he is going to be okay. He may have just pulled a muscle and once he rested it settled and he is fine now. He is outside of the room I am in, knocking on the door looking for me. Gotta dash, he only slept 45min today so he will be sleeping soon (normally gets 2-2.5 hours sleep during the day). Thanks again for all of your support. blush.gif

MomofTay&Sam replied: ohmy.gif I am so glad he is doing fine now! What a horrible scare. I hope everything is well with you guys in the morning. smile.gif

Insanemomof3 replied: Glad to hear that he is ok! How scary. Hopefully today will be a better day. biggrin.gif

Mom2_my3boys replied: Glad to hear Matthew is OK. Let us know if anything coimes up.. smile.gif

booey2 replied: Thomas is great, it was like it never happened. But I think the full moon got ahold of both boys as they were both up a few times last night. That makes for one tired mommy. Thanks again.

MommyToAshley replied: Glad to hear everything is A-OK!! And, I can relate to the sleepless nights.

supermom replied: Glad to hear everything turned out for the good, and that Thomas is doing well!!

MomToMany replied: grouphug.gif Glad everything is well now! With 3 boys, I can totally understand the trouble they get into wink.gif !

dry.gif I think that full moon and the eclipse had weird effects on a lot of things, because everyone was restless here, too!
