gr33n3y3z wrote: The Dr called today and all of Katies Test were fine

The Dr did say Katie is Highly Lactose Intolerant and she is sending down more papers to help us out.

And katie will see her in 2 months unless things dont change with her new diet.

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: That is good news!! Are things going better on this new diet yet??

Kaitlin'smom replied: wheew I am glad you got some answers, how long has the been going on? I think I missed the original post, Has she always has issues, or is this something recent that just happend. Oh and I cant remember how old is she?

A&A'smommy replied: I'm so glad to hear that!! thumb.gif And now she can work on feeling better!!! hug.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm so glad to hear it's nothing serious! thumb.gif I hope the new diet helps. smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: hug.gif Glad everything went ok. I'm sure once all the milk protein is out of her system and she gets used to the diet she'll feel as good as new.

Insanemomof3 replied: Great news! I hope she starts feeling better with the new diet. I found out I was lactose intolerant a while back and once I changed my diet I felt better after about a month. Of course, everything I love has lactose, so I spend a lot of time feeling like crap. I hope she has better self control than I do. rolleyes.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

gr33n3y3z replied:
Our reg. Dr has put her on Lactaid pills and Milk but was never tested for it
Then the pills and milk didnt work any more on katie but the problems were on and off for a year or so but it never got like this before.

She has been having bad problems The Monday of thanksgiving week.

And katie is 12 now smile.gif

CantWait replied: That's great news!!!! Good luck to her on the new diet, hope everything works out. hug.gif

DansMom replied: Change of diet can make all the difference---so glad they figured it out. Can she tolerate butter and cheese, or is that out too?

kimberley replied: what a relief you know what you are dealing with now. good luck with the diet and hope Katie is feeling better! hug.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: Glad her tests were normal! thumb.gif Hope the dietary changes pan out soon for her.

My3LilMonkeys replied: thumb.gif Glad to hear it wasn't anything serious!

gr33n3y3z replied:
cheese is out I made Katie a grilled cheese sandwhich last night with Lactaid cheese and she took a bite and said it was nasty so this is not going to be fun.

Butter she cant have but we have smart balance organic and she can use that

I'm waiting for the papers from the Dr

I know she can eat lunch meats as long as they are all Kosher
Her hot dogs have to be Sabretts no milk in those or Kosher hot dogs
We just have to read everything wacko.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: I am glad you found out..and it was nothing as serious as it could have been. Those results take to long to come though! I hate waiting.

I know it will be hard..but you will learn alot that is the good part!

ammommy replied: I"m glad that you are getting answers. Hopefully, the diet will help.

jcc64 replied: I am so happy for you guys!!!!!!! I know all the testing and anxiety was alot to go through, but thankfully you got the news you wanted, and now you can deal with the situation at hand.
As far as the butter thing- I use something similiar to Smart Balance called Soy Garden. It tastes GREAT, believe me, I don't even buy butter anymore. Bigger supermarkets carry it, usually in the natural foods dairy section- or you could try your local health food store or Trader Joe's.
We used to do a lot of soy cheeses when Noah was little (took him completely off dairy b/c of chronic ear infections). Some were nasty, some were tolerable, but I believe they've improved alot since then. The grated soy cheese is actually pretty good. Anyway, good luck with the diet, and congratulations on the good news.
