Kaitlin's Working Alex's - Alex's Lemonade Stand
redchief wrote: Kaitlin is working Alex's Lemonade Stand tomorrow. This is her first real charity event and she's really looking forward to it. She was contacted by a classmate today and they're doing a stand three times in town this summer. Kaitlin has her sleeves rolled up and is ready to go! Lemonade anyone?

mammag replied: That is so great. I hadn't heard of that and it made me cry when I read about her. A very worthy cause indeed!

redchief replied: She has a HUGE heart.
Even better, the organizer of the local event is a senior citizen woman. Watching the kids and the grandmother work together for such a worthy cause is heartening!

I had never heard of Alex's lemonade stand, I was really touched by her story on the website. So... how did it go with the lemonade stand?
TANNER'S MOM replied: OH MY that is sooo sweet.
I have never heard of it but I think this is awesome,... I am very proud of her too. Brought a tear to my eye...
stanleygirl replied: That is wonderful that she is doing that, you must be so proud They are setting up the first stand here ever, so me and Kieran are going to go make a donation, it is a really wonderful charity to support.
kimberley replied: she is such a sweetheart!
redchief replied: We don't have an exact total donations for the day (they're not really big on that because so many children do the stand and they don't want to embarrass or diminish the efforts of anyone), but we figured there was about $1,500.00 in donations. Their location wasn't well chosen, but they've got some more promising ones for future stands. The kids want to make Alex's Lemonade Stand a regular fixture at major town events and they have the city's blessing to do so. She stayed with it all day and received some extremely generous donations! Kaitlin is also proud of all the new friends she made working the stand.
