Kerry concede to Bush

has anyone heard if this had been a big voting turn out...like record nubers?
coasterqueen replied: I haven't heard but I'm assuming so..I think I heard somewhere that in Ohio..democratic party signed 800,000 new voters and that they were going to prisons to sign people up.
I'm assuming the republican party was doing the same things too.
My guess is yes..
aspenblue1 replied: I think I heard something about it being the most voters. I know that around here there was not enough polls!
coasterqueen replied: Kaitlin this is just from one source..Fox News but here's an article on record voter turnout: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,137430,00.html
MommyToAshley replied: I heard it was a strong turn-out, basically the same thing as in the story that Karen posted.
Since you are local, I saw on the news last night that people in Ohio stood in poll lines for over 9 hours! I wonder how many of those people just got tired and went home. I only stood in line for about 5 minutes (there were a handful of people ahead of me). In those districts that had such long lines, they should add more polling places.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Y aI had hear some in columbus waited 5 or more hours to vote, I had a 45 minute waite much longer and I would have had to leave
My2Beauties replied: Gosh I only had a 2 minute wait, I was the only person in line! Still didn't matter my vote didn't count for a thing!
coasterqueen replied: I wish you would believe that your vote counted. It did count whether your party lost or not. IT DID count. Think of all the women long ago that didn't get the right to vote and make it count.
Heck, I could say the same thing in some respect because Illinois gave all it's electoral votes to Kerry and the popular vote in Illinois was won by him as well.......BUT I still think my vote counted because my voice was heard....if only by me..that's fine. I would like to move to another state...one more along my party lines as far as the electoral college is concerned.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: From what I saw (I was watching Fox News as well Karen!) there was a very large voter turn out. I didn't have to wait in line because I sent in an absentee ballot for Florida. We starting getting results a little after 3:30 in the afternoon so I watched until I passed out at 1. It was kind of neat to watch as it all played out.
And Hannasmommy your vote DID count. I am in agreement with Karen. The fact that you felt strongly enough to get out and vote was so important. They are saying that there was a big turnout for women voters which is fantastic. You went out and made your voice heard and that is what matters.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yes, LeeAnne, your vote counted. It always does and it always will. Don't let this discourage you from voting again. Bush has the southern states. It's a bible belt.
I can't believe Kerry conceded so early. I am so grateful he didn't contest, though. Phew! That would have taken WEEKS!
MomToMany replied: I'm so glad he is conceding it so early too. What a headache it would be if he didn't.
At least he's a gracious loser; if he would've contested it, he would just look like a sore loser.
redchief replied: It was the largest voter turnout in the USA; ever.
It was the most votes for a single president; ever.
Bush won the popular vote by about 4 million votes.
By recent presidential races, it was a landslide; Bush won by the largest margin since his father's 1988 race.
