Kitt Kittredge
coasterqueen wrote: I know this was out at the theatres awhile back. We just rented it on DVD and I was really glad we all sat down as a family to watch this movie. Although our economy isn't in a depression, we aren't far from it and it was nice to have the girls watch this and see what can happen, etc. At the end of the movie I reminded them how much we should appreciate EVERYTHING we have, because in a quick moment we could lose everything. They often do not appreciate things like I feel they should. It was also a good lesson on everyone being equal, rich or poor, etc. Overall a great learning movie for my girls.
A&A'smommy replied: awesome I have been wanting to watch this movie!!!
lisar replied: I bought that movie for Lexi, she watched it and said she liked it but I have not seen it yet. Maybe I will watch it tonight
mom21kid2dogs replied: All the American Girl movies rock! We love them. They remind me of family feature films that used to be (maybe still are?) out there. Kit Kittridge was very well done~and rather timely given the current state of affairs.
coasterqueen replied: There are more? Where? Where? Hmmm, guess I need to search Netflix. Kitt Kittredge was the best thing I could have my girls watch in the times we are now and at the age they are now so I can explain to them how greatful they should be of the things they have, how to treat others, etc.
boyohboyohboy replied: do you think this is geared just towards girls and to girly for a boy to sit thru?
coasterqueen replied: Hmmm, no not necessarily. There are many boys in the movie and Kitt's friend is a boy. I really think it's for the entire family, no matter what age or sex. I thought there were a LOT of good lessons in it, especially for Kylie's age, not so much for Megan. I think a lot of it was an eye-opener for her.
mom21kid2dogs replied: O got Samantha for Christmas and we got Felicity last night at the Library. There are several. They released one around Christmas about "mean girls" but for the life of me I can't think of what it's called!
Jamison'smama replied: Chrissa
coasterqueen replied: Thanks ladies. I will have to look at those. I like to teach my girls those things in life, but sometimes a movie can also drive the point home.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Oh! Thanks Brenda!!!
sc_mom2five replied: I so want to watch this movie but I want to read the book with my kids first. Must make sure I do it soon!
