Tomorrow is his first tournament but in practice he's doing awesome...tonight he beat a kid two years older who has been wrestling for a year He's a pretty tough kid, works his butt off in practice and the coach always uses him as an example..."See what Colt just did there? I never thought I'd like wrestling but have to admit it's growing on me

MyBabeMaddie replied: My one brother was always in the top 5 in the state for wrestling in high school - Its such a tough sport to watch sometimes - Word of advice - Don't sit within ear shot of the opponents family! One time we were watching my brother and the other kids family was screaming "BREAK HIS NECK, JUST BREAK HIS NECK"... I think my mom had to walk out of the gym she was so scared

So far everyone we've come across has been really great, from coaches to refs to the other parents. Maybe b/c it's junior wrestling and these little guys are just getting started, I'm not sure, but the sportsmanship has been incredible and just lots of fun all the way around. Although at the tournament yesterday one of the 14yos from our team got bit on the shoulder

Oh yeah, the kid tried to say that he didn't bite him, that his mouth was open and our kid "pushed his shoulder into it" The ref said that didn't explain the teeth marks and the kid was outta there and suspended from any tournaments for 30 days
