Laundry and Socks??

Last night I mated about 100 pairs..and thats no joke..4 kids and one husband.

I need a better way?

ferocity302 replied: we buy all the same kind for each person so no matching is needed. They all go into their own sock drawer loose when the socks get holes... out they go but the whole pair doesn't necessarily have to get thrown out that way.

My2Beauties replied: I have a problem with this too, Hanna has about a thousand pairs of socks that I can't find the mates too, so I'm constantly buying new socks.

mammag replied: I used to have a sock bag that all the socks with no friends went but now I do Sara's method and hope that when I go to pull out two socks there will be matches.....let me tell ya, it's not serving us too well, Conner's always coming down stairs with 2 different socks but he tries to fold them over so they are the same height and hope I won't notice and send him back for socks. Sometimes I think I need to just add it into the grocery budget to buy us each a pack of socks each week......disposable socks, that's what they need to make!

Kaitlin'smom replied: for DH I got him tons of the some kind so they go loose in his drawer, me I dont wear them to often so they get mated, with Kait hers get mated if I have an odd ball one it goes in the drawer and hope to mate it up next time

I have one type for me. The white socks with the light grey at the toes and the heel.

2 types for DH - all other white socks - ha ha (seriously the white ones with the DARK grey at the sole of the foot) and the black dressy ones for work

Primary colored socks for Zach

Girly colored socks for EMilie

In the wash, and this is SOOO stupid...... I actually PIN the kids socks together (on one of those big long diaper pins), to another piece of clothing. I haven't lost one since I started doing this...



as for ours, once a month I take out the basin in the washer (well not since I got my new frontloader) and look under it. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the dryer that eats your socks, but the washer..... take the basin out, socks there will most likely be.

jem0622 replied: Why doesn't everyone wear the same kind of sock? No colors or special things on them so they all match? And you could just have a few sizes and not many sizes in different colors? It would save your sanity. I know a triplet mother who swears by this to save time on laundry. I don't pair socks up b/c I don't have time!
