Lay-offs at my job

My2Beauties wrote: My company announced yesterday that they will be laying off 250 people across the U.S. and Mexico. It's been all over the news here and the radio since it's such a large company and a very well-known and one of the oldest employers in Louisville. I'm not really too worried right now about my job per se, I am the only payroll analyst for the entire company so I doubt this will affect me, however you never ever know and I'm also worried for others in my dept. Then who is to say there won't be more lay-offs. I also keep hearing rumors about a merger with another large alcoholic beverage corporation and with mergers depending on whose pockets are deeper, the employees of the smaller corporation usually get let go. This is so scary guys, please cross your fingers for us, DH is still laid off and this would be detrimental to us if something were to happen to my job. We would lose everything we own

This is something I fear every single day (and for years now) at Dh's company. They've been laying off people for several years now - more so due to our state economy, but also due to the federal economy. His company relies on state and government contracts and when they aren't spending the company doesn't do well.

TrulyBlessed replied: Big Hugs and many prayers. It is really scary when you just don't know what is going to happen. I lost my job 2 years ago and I had to place everything in God's hands and He has been faithful and taken very good care of us. It's a scary road..... but I am glad I wasn't alone that He was with me. I know He will take care of you too.
