Leave me alone!
Calimama wrote: My MIL is driving me NUTS! She calls all the time, first the house phone, then my cell, then DH's cell. This morning she called me at 6:42am! So I pickup god forbid it be an emergency.. no she was just "concerned" because we haven't been taking her calls. Well quit calling me a spoiled brat, and a S*** and I'll start taking your calls more! I only answer occasionally so she can have a relationship with her granddaughter. Ahhhhh.. I wanna change my number.

Cece00 replied: sounds sooooo much like my mil.
we wouldnt talk to her for MONTHS one time so she actually ended up sending LETTERS and CARDS, I kid you not.
And when she calls now, she calls the house, then both our cells. The last time it was for something SO stupid- a question about her headlight.

Mommy2Isabella replied: Thankfully MIL doesn't have my cell!
But I feel for you!!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I'm sorry your mil is being a pain they are all programed that way I think I have the whole Everybody Loves Raymond thing going on over here, my inlaws live Next Door!! And her kids do no wrong...and I'm a spoiled b*tch..and she does not understand what a sahm is she thinks I just sit home all day everyday....
Calimama replied: You're stronger than I am.... I would move.
msoulz replied: My MIL is one of those "well meaning" people. She is a bit on the kooky side but would never intentionally hurt someone. She does like to meddle when given the chance but here's the thing - DH stopped that a long time ago. She has been putting her nose into his brother and sisters' business forever but stays out of ours unless asked (so we get to hear them complain about it but they don't stop it). That is the ticket - DH must not allow mom to interfere because she won't listen to us. That can be tough for some guys but I really think we are more respected than his siblings for it.
My point being that the child of the offending MIL/FIL, whatever, must be the one to set the boundaries and stick by them. I am sure there are guys out there saying the same things about our mothers (can you believe it??) and we have to set the boundaries with them too if necessary.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: You are 100% right. Consistantly telling her also, just like a child.
Kentuckychick replied: 6:45?? UGH! My aunt called me once before 8 and when I answered the phone she said in a chipper tone "Good Morning"... I believe my exact response was "What.The.H*ll"
I would just lie and tell her the phone was flipped to silent conveniently every single time she called
