Lets talk about - VEGETABLES
moped wrote: How on earth do you get your kids to eat vegys????????? Jack will not look at or touch one - NO WAY NO HOW!!!!!!
Any ideas?
I can't hide them in things cause he knows - don't ask me how but he does know! I think he can smell them a mile away......he must have gotten my nose because Tom says I can smell a mosquito fart in Mexico!
coasterqueen replied: Well I have this problem with Kylie. She loves carrots, can't keep her away from them, but she doesn't like much else. DH discovered she will eat green beans if you put butter on them. Works every time. She won't eat anything else, though. Well corn and salad, but that's it.
Megan likes EVERYTHING, including all vegetables we've given her so far.
moped replied: You are lucky they will eat that!!!!! Soo soooo lucky!
kayla's mama replied: I don't know.....
I had to post because I was ROTFLMBO with..
luvmykids replied: What if he can dip them in something? Or have you tried stuff like sweet potatoes? We went through a phase like that, and they would only eat canned, I guess they do have a little more flavor sometimes. Better than nothing, but other than that I dunno!
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kait will some times eat carrotts, but mainly she will only eat corn, just like her daddy. She used to eat the different kinds as a baby but now she wont eat them. I keep offering its all I can do.
ediep replied: Jen, Jason is the same way...I have to hide them in his food.
I puree steamed carrots and butternut squash and add them to mac and cheese. I puree zucchini and put it in brownies or chocolate cake. I even puree carrots and put them in pancake batter.
I have read about some others that may work for you...shredded carrots in grilled cheese, pureed veggies in tomato sauce (works for pizza and pasta)...these don't work for Jay because he doesn't like tomato sauce, pizza, or grilled cheese.
I just try my best to make sure he gets some fruit every day and make sure he takes his vitamins.
Mom2Boyz replied: Conner doesn't care for veggies much either. He will eat green beans SOMETIMES, but they have to have butter on them. Carrots he will eat if I make them with butter and brown sugar. That's about all the veggies he'll eat. He won't even try the others. He does eat alot of fruit though. He'll eat just about any fruit I put in front of him.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Well my kids both love veggies but DH doesn't - I found with him if you put melted cheese on it he'll eat anything!
MyLuvBugs replied: Does he like Cheese? If so, you can drowned the veggies in some cheese. That works with Lorelei and peas, but she digs most other veggies.
jacobsmama replied: I would also say cheese or cooking them in some butter. I never could hide it from Jacob either he would always know. Just eventually he started eating them IDK what happened. But Greenbeans cooked with butter or carrots is how I got jacob to eat bites of them. Good luck!
Brias3 replied: I've never really had a veggie problem with any of my kids thankfully but I have to say Mason IS pickier than my older two. I do alot of disguising of the veggies just in case- mostly in pasta or mac n'cheese or serving cold veggies with a bit of ranch to dip it in (he really likes this). I try to offer at least one veggie at lunch and then two at dinner. He does however love cucumbers and so whenever we are going in the car to pick up my older two from school, I'll bring along a baggy of them. For some reason, eating vegetables out of a bag in the car doesn't warrant quite the fight it does at the table
