Level II ultrasound
Mommy2BAK wrote: So we had our growth and anatomy ultrasound done on the twins today, it was fun to see them again, baby A is 8 ounces and measuring at 18 weeks 1 day and baby B is 9 ounces and measuring at 18 weeks 3 days. We FINALLY got an answer to our question... they are fraternal. They are in the same sac, but with a membrane seperating them and they each have their own placenta, which in the world of twins is ideal, because of Twin to Twin Transfusion. The ultrasound was excrusiating though, I had to show up with a full bladder and wait from 12:30 until 1, then it took her 50 minutes to do the full ultrasound I thought I was going to wet my pants on that table, but luckily that didn't happen.
kimberley replied: lol ur a trooper for holding it that long!
glad they are doing so well and you got ur answer. so.. how about those names, missy?!
Our Lil' Family replied: So that means that you released two eggs right? Instead of one egg splitting? And my guess, based on the measurements is that you conceived the second one 2 days later....is this right?
Mommy2BAK replied: I know, we really need to get it together with names, I told Larry that he is in charge of naming one baby and I'll name the other... so anytime he hears a name he says "okay I got mine"
lovemy2 replied: That is so great TAMARA I am so glad everything is well and twins are wonderful but I think it is great that they are fraternal so they can each have their own little look

Mommy2BAK replied: Don't ask me in depth questions like that Naomi! We have had 4 different ultrasounds and each one was done by someone different that had different opinions. So I'm still confused.. then I have moms on my twin message board that give me other opinions.
Our Lil' Family replied: Sorry, I'm just fascinated by multiples!
moped replied: so is fraternal mean they are identical?
Calimama replied: Fraternal means they are NOT identical I believe.
Anthony275 replied: fraternal = two eggs two sperm identical = one egg fertilized and splits in half
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: yay ! So happy your pregnancy is going smoothly. I'm glad you got your answer, too
HuskerMom replied: Yay that's so exciting!!
