Listening to the radio at work

MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: And some clueless fellow just called in to dedicate the song "Lips of an Angel" to his girlfriend. Apparently he hasn't listened to the words. As far as I can tell, it's about a guy having a hard time not cheating on his girlfriend with his ex. Not a song I'd want dedicated to me. LOL. However I do like the song. It kind of has a melancholy 80s feel to it.

I LOVE, love that song. wub.gif wub.gif The lead singer has a sexy voice. tongue.gif Someone who used to come on PC said the drummer was her cousin! wink.gif

cameragirl21 replied: It really is a beautiful song, though.
maybe the girl he's dedicating it to IS the other woman the song refers to...?
most likely, though, he's just a clueless guy taking a random stab at being romantic.... tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I LOVE that song... but bad choice to dedicate to your g/f!!! emlaugh.gif

J-rod replied: Hinder is one awesome band!

but yea he is messed up....HOWEVER it doesnt have to mean cheating. you can interpret that as a good friend. trust me it doesnt have to mean cheating. i can relate to that song in parts and i would never ever cheat.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: J-Rod, on listening to the song, I agree. It isn't about cheating per say, but I do still think that it is about a guy trying not to cheat, but being sorely tempted. I mean, neither of their current loves knows their talking (secretive), they used to be something to each other (I guess we never really moved on) and saying someone has the "lips of an angel" sounds pretty seductive to me. However, not arguing, I wouldn't cheat either, but I've been cheated on. I can relate to the song too, I LOVE it. And thanks for the band name, I've been trying to catch that on the radio for weeks now. thumb.gif

well i can relate to the song and i guess ill explain so maybe you and others can see my point of view.

my best friend was a girl for the past few years. (until i met steph) i was in a relationship and she forbid me to talk to my best friend. so we still talked in secret. we still had lunch days (5 of us went out every wednesday.) she (my best friend) helped me through my divorce. (cant bleieve i just aired that out in public) i moved in with her and her boyfriend.....and then moved again...then met steph and we got invilved. got my own place and then we got our house...and so on and so on.

the lips of an angel part may be interpreted as the sweet and sincere words from someone helping you through something else. my best friend helped me quit taking pills and drinking together. most likely saved my life. so if it wasnt for her i never woulda been alive to meet steph and have kyan.

anyways im rambeling and prolly saying too much so im shutting up.

ITA not exactly the song I'd want to dedicate to my bf, but it is a great song.

Our Lil' Family replied: I'm just listening to it now for the first time and it makes me teary eyed! I guess being the child of an adultry divorce it really hits home. I like the band though.
