Locks for love?

Mommy2BAK wrote: Anyone ever donated to them? I've got to have 10 inches to send but I only have 17 inches of hair, I want my hair cut off so bad but I don't know if I should wait and grow another few inches. But, my question is after you send off your hair do you ever get any sort of reply? I wish I could see the person that gets my hair smile.gif that would be cool!

Kaitlin'smom replied: not sure I coudl ask my dad he has dont this 2 times, he grew his hair out and then cut it off, I dunno how long it was.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: I donated to them about a year ago; I gave them 12 inches of my hair. I gave them my name & address, but never got any reply. It would've been cool to see who I helped!

Mommy2BAK replied: well shoot. It will be nice to know that it went to someone who needed it, but it would make it sooo much better to be able to see who. WOW 12 inches? Some little girl got really lucky!

lisar replied: My cousin donated once. And she got a thank you card and that was it. But atleast she got something right.

holley79 replied: I donated 24 inches to Locks Of Love the year I was pregnant with Annika. I was told the min was 10 or 12 inches. I can't remember.

LOL Site

A&A'smommy replied: I donated to them when I was about 13 I think I sent right at 10inches

Mommy2BAK replied:
I've visited their site alot, I love seeing the kids, I'm pretty sure the min is 10. I can't believe you had 24 inches to spare! ohmy.gif smile.gif

holley79 replied: Honey my hair was beyond my behind. blush.gif I got a cute little thank you card so there is some little redhaired girl running around somewhere. wub.gif

Mommy2BAK replied:
Awww how cool!!! laugh.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Ahh that's so sweet Holley! Our babysitter and her daughter did it. And yes, I think they said the min was 10". I think it's such a great idea, but I just haven't got up the nerve to cut off my hair yet. One of these days. I know that's selfish of me, but it's the truth. blush.gif Good for you all that have/are thinking of doing it!

PrairieMom replied: I am currently growing mine out for this reason. wub.gif I have a few inches to go tho.
I am always undecided whether I should cut it short or grow it out, now I can do both, for a purpose, so I don't have to waste my time wondering what I should do. laugh.gif

My2Beauties replied: I do know the min is 10 inches. That's so nice of you guys, if I ever let my hair grow out that long again, I'd definitely donate it.

mckayleesmom replied: Shoot...I could probably donate mine 3 times a year...it grows super fast......Mckaylee does not have my jeans though...hers grows at a snails pace.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I have done it several times, but my hair salon sends it in for me.

MoonMama replied: I donated when I was 14, 14 inches. I got a thank card. And yes 10 inches was the min.

Jackie012007 replied: I donate mine every other year. They do take shorter lengths, they make the bangs or layers with it. I sent in about 8 inches and they took it.

MommyToAshley replied:
Same here. When I donated, the hair salon sent it in.

lesliesmom replied: DD (6) will probably be donating in the summer. She's ready to cut it now but I would like her hair a little long after it's cut.. she'll probably have 10-12 inches to donate. Also (selfish mommy here), I want her to have enough hair so that I can get it in a bun for her dance recital in June. After that, her hair's fair game. She's so excited to be doing this too. It would be neat to see who got it though.
