Long weekend and I am tired but feeling great - We went less traditional on the Easter

My kid are just getting old for the good ole Easter Bunny..Including Tanner. We of course bought them Easter Baskets...Well I just made them. The girls got a chocolate bunny, a journal and mechinal pencil. And a spin pro toothbrush. Some body wash with matching lotion.

The boys got A spin pro tooth brush, chocolate bunny, yo-yo and frisbee that whistle and mechical pencil's also with a notebook to draw in.

That was our big Easter, I bought some plastic eggs and they weren't even interested in hunting eggs.

Yesterday we went on a family hike. We went and hiked 5 and half miles. It took us 2.5 hours. It would have been faster but Tanner was a lagging. That's a long way for an 8 year old. Brittany kept telling me it wasn't family time, it was family punishment. But the rest of us loved it including Justin..who was our trail leader most of the way

Today after we got our Easter Basket.. we went on a family fishing trip and my Dad joined us. We didn't catch anything just a bunch of small perch..but it was fun. Brittany even fished and caught something so that was a plus. She tired to sit and listen to her walkmen but once we started catching fish she had to join the family.

Now Dh is nursing a sun burn and feeling miserable but the rest of the family used sunscreen! But I had a great weekend with my family. I am sad they are too old to hunt eggs but feel great we did other family things together and it really wasn't punishment.. I think she liked it but thought she was suppose to gripe.

Ashley and Tyler are 14 and 13 and still enjoy easter egg hunts and finding their easter baskets.

It is sad when they longer beleave just doesnt seem fun any more ..... then you have to make up new fun LOL
