sparkys2boys replied: rolling_smile.gif Glad your enjoying the housework so much!!!

Calimama replied: thumb.gif I love modern technology.

PrairieMom replied: I think our dog hair would kill a roomba in less than an hour. laugh.gif I am seriously thinking of the scooba tho. I HATE to mop.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: WITW? huh.gif That would be "What in the world?" Don't know what you all are talking about....fill me in, please!

PrairieMom replied:
huh.gif really?

My2Beauties replied: My dad has one of these Tara and he has 4 dogs, one of them being a Great Pyrenees and that dog sheds like another dog every day laugh.gif and the Roomba does fine!!!! I swear, that thing is awesome, I would looooove to have one but we don't have any pets so DH says we don't need one rolleyes.gif

PrairieMom replied:
how often do you have to empty the filter with that many dogs? Lycos sheds in clumps. I have to empty the thing after just doing one level of my home. It just doesn't look like it would hold that much.

kit_kats_mom replied: You pretty much have to empty the bin every time it runs. It's really easy though, just pop it out and dump it

lovemy2 replied: Bout time you checked in girlfriend - now that you have someone or something doing your housework you should be able to come visit more often - laugh.gif

Really so that thing really works with dog hair too? We are going to need a new vacuum soon and I was thinking about it but figured it wouldn't work well with the 70 lb German Shepherd who would really only weigh 30 lbs if not for her hair.......

I wonder if we bought it and it didn't do a good job we could take it back?

A&A'smommy replied: Thats AWESOME thumb.gif thumb.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: thumb.gif Id be interested in the scooba too I hate mopping and hate a dirty floor laugh.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Yes really, I've never seen it before! laugh.gif You would think I live under a rock, but seriously, I'm not that techi. wink.gif I'm surprised DH hasn't mentioned it though because he is so into gadgets. I don't know though Jen, IMO, if I could afford one of those, I could afford a housecleaner! rolling_smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Our original Roomba lasted for 4 years before she died. We are on the second gen now and she gets used almost every day. You still need a vac for the weekly cleaning because it dosn't deep clean that great but it will pick up cheerios, kitchen stuff and cat fur from the surface.

Cece00 replied: I wouldnt want a Roomba, because of the lack of carpeting I have, it really wouldnt get used...

& I thought about a Scooba but I heard they dont work well & it would really tick me off to have to mop after using one of those rolling_smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Our roomba's main job is in the kitchen on the tile floors. She does a great job with cat litter and the random junk that gets on the floor of a kitchen.

At our old house, we used her on the carpet and our pergo floors.

moped replied:
Oh she is used on carpet, hardwood, everything we have - I say she because I named her Charlene!

luvmykids replied: I would love a Scooba but heard they're not that great if your floors are uneven....my biggest area is ceramic tile that has uneven heights between the tiles sad.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I rather do it myself and know its really clean and just not 1/2 done

coasterqueen replied: We love our Roomba, he's a he. happy.gif He was so lonely that we got him a she, Scooba, a year or so ago. biggrin.gif

lisar replied: I want one but dh says NO everytime I talk about it.

Anthony275 replied: do these things comes with names or something?

moped replied:
Too funny, I know hes a he, but I just can't imagine the men I know cleaning my floor so I had to name her a her~ tongue.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Well the reason he got labeled a "he" is because in the beginning when you set the boundaries with those little things to keep roomba in one room, he kept getting outside the boundaries and so of course since he wasn't listening he was obviously a he. laugh.gif

Calimama replied:
laugh.gif laugh.gif

moped replied:
Right - maybe I need to rename her BOB!

So how do you like Scooba???

PrairieMom replied: How much noise do those things make?

My2Beauties replied:
They're quieter than most vaccuums to be honest, but I mean they do make a little noise. I swear I'm going to ask DH for one now, I would love to have one, I think I'll shoot for my b'day this year, that gives me 9 1/2 months of begging! LOL! laugh.gif

5littleladies replied: I got a Scooba for Christmas and it is amazing!! I love it, love it, love it! I am always amazed at how dirty the water is that comes out of the tank. It isn't much of a time saver for us so far though because we love to watch it work!! My brother named her Rosie. wink.gif An example of how well she works-I put her to work in our mudroom that was covered with mud, dog hair, and everything else under the sun and I'm talking dried on, not fresh stuff, and she cleaned all of it with no trouble at all. Definitely worth every penny. thumb.gif

lovemy2 replied: Bottom line girls anything that cleans CAN'T possibly be a HE - at least not in my house laugh.gif

moped replied:
Hence CHARLENE!

coasterqueen replied:
Scooba takes longer to clean a room than roomba and you have to be there to fill her back up with cleaning solution and water. I think it probably takes our kitchen/foyer three fills to clean it. It does a pretty decent job. The only thing she doesn't do a good job at is close to the cabinet bases. I usually get down on the floor and scrub directly under the fridge, stove, and along the cabinet base line after she finishes and the floor is dry. I do think Scooba is louder than Roomba is. She kind of annoys me at how loud she is, but it is nice to have her mopping the floor while I'm cleaning in other areas of the house. tongue.gif

moped replied:
And is Scooba about the same price?

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif In our house, DH does a lot of cleaning so that Roomba can easily be a he. Plus, I have to admit that DH does a much better job at remembering to put Roomba to work than I do. blush.gif

lovemy2 replied:
Lucky you thumb.gif Mine does have other talents though - so he is still a keeper laugh.gif

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif That's good. Yes, they all seem to have their good talents, that we tend to forget. I would have to say my husband is different than most men I know when it comes to cleaning, cooking, etc.

julesmom replied: I want to get a scoomba. What model do you all have? I notice there are now 3.

holley79 replied: So you are still lovin it I take it! emlaugh.gif

DillsMommy replied:
You guys are hilarious! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

I actually like vacuuming (crazy, huh?) Plus, it seems like I could get it done alot faster than the roomba could. dunno.gif

moped replied:
Loving it very much

To julesmom - I have the 5000 series, i think it is the newest one.....

Calimama replied:
So do I. It's calming for some reason.

Anthony275 replied: thats true, you should see me when im angry
the whole house is cleaned its weird

Calimama replied:
Um get mad and come over. rolling_smile.gif

Anthony275 replied: how would i clean your house with 26 barbie dolls thrown everywhere?!

Calimama replied:
rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif I knew you were gonna bring that up.

Calimama replied:
I'll make sure to hide the red-headed ones. rolling_smile.gif

PrairieMom replied:
I know why. when the vacuum is running you can't hear the kids screaming. rolleyes.gif

Anthony275 replied: oh please do

Calimama replied:
Yep that could be it... emlaugh.gif
