Maddie might have the measles

Mommieto2Girls wrote: I already called the doc and we will be there at 3:30pm. She has had a slight cold for a week then had a fever for a whole day and night, that was 2 days ago. Now she has a blotchy rash on her neck, head(but not her face), stomach, chest and whole back. There is nothing on her legs or arms. My sis is bring me a book with pictures in it to see if they match up.

I thought maybe it was what she was wearing or what I had on, so last night we both got baths and I didn't put anything on her just a diaper. It's still there.

mummy2girls replied: It probably is measals...they say a fever breaks out a day or 2 before the rash appears. And what you are explainind adds up to where the measals start on a childs body. I hope she is ok and sending get well vibes her way~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Maddie has Roseola(sp?). They said it is highly contagous and it's a viral infection. There is nothing they can give her cause what they would give her might cause a rash, and it would be hard to tell if she gets worse. They told me I have to keep an eye on her and if she gets another fever and her caugh gets worse or the rash gets worse then to call him on his cell(I have his cell #, he's a great doc), and he will meet us at the er. The rash should go away within a few days to a week. Thanks for thinking about Maddie it really means alot.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: You know - you post something.then you forget to knock on wood. We got Zach from daycare, he was a little irritable. So we fed him, whatever, when we undressed him to take his bath, I noticed a rash that DH *forgot to mention*.

We<re taking him to the clinic tonight also....is this dangerous for me, being pg??

Did he have a fever a few days ago..... Doc told me it is going around , so maybe he has the same thing....

catou_98 replied: My neice had that when she was about a year old....the rash went away in 3 days! I hope maddie recovers quickly! thanks for the update!

Heather replied: I was going to post that is sounded like Roseola. Alison had it on her birthday. The rash is last part of it and seems to be the less of the whole thing.

No, she's not in daycare. She is really only around one other kid and that's Brianna. So I have no clue how she got it. We went to Wal-Mart a week ago and there are alsways a bunch of kids there. But who knows.
