Make it Stop - please ...

Mommy2Isabella wrote: OMGOSH ... I have been sick for like a month. I had a sinus infection and that was tons of fun, as well as an ear infection.

I have been coughing for EVER now, and today, I must have caught some virus because I have been throwing up since 8am ...

WHAT THE HECK ..... make it stop ... any suggestions ... im not a medicine taker so ... thats out of the question!

A&A'smommy replied: yuck I'm sorry!!!! I had a stomach virus when I was pregnant with alyssa its NO fun at all!!! I hope you feel better and get past all the sickness... I know you already know this but PLEASE keep yourself hydrated hug.gif hug.gif

Jackie012007 replied: I was sick like that the whole time I was pregnant... stuffy and pukey. For the sinuses, I invested in a warm mist humidifier - well worth the money! I put it in my bedroom right next to our bed - as an added bonus, it keeps your room warm if its small enough!!! rolling_smile.gif

For the pukeyness, I sipped Sprite, that always helped. And ate graham crackers, that also seemed to help. Or Ginger Ale and Ginger Snaps - the ginger supposedly helps with the nausea. Other than that, I know you aren't a medicine taker but my doctor prescribed me this anti-nausea pill that melts in your mouth. I can't remember what the name of it was but it melts instatnly and it helped A LOT! hug.gif

Calimama replied: Take water and Vitamin C until you feel like you can't take them anymore wink.gif Hope you feel better soon. hug.gif

momofone replied: Maybe load up on berries strawberries blueberries cranberry juice they have antiviral properties in them.

Mommy2Isabella replied: I cant even drink water. I take 1000mg of vit. c on a daily basis so ... thats not an issue.

BLECH, I hope its just a 24 bug with the pukeyness cause I can't do another day of this.

My dad just brought over some gatorade and the midwife said to try eating some ice chips and then add water, and then gatorade and see what I can handle, I am a HUGE water drinker so I feel so ... BLAH because I haven't been able to keep ANYTHING down sad.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I feel your pain! I have had something at least every other week for the past three months...And if I don't have something, my kids or DH does! It stinks. I like to go to the gym, but I have to take the boys if I want to go and they ALWAYS pickup something there. Same with me, after picking up the weights. I try to use hand sanitizer constantly and wipe down shopping carts, but I still get sick. And I don't like medicine either, but I felt a sore throat coming on last night, took two or three of those Emergen-C drinks, and I don't have it today. I'm fighting it hard!!

ETA: I've had that stomach virus you're talking about TWICE in the past few months. Gatorade really is a lifesaver. Gives back your electrolytes. Only thing I could stomach. That, a piece of toast, and two Advils. Helped kick the achy body and headache. Helped me sleep. GL hug.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Eat ice chips for sure. There is a product at Walmart or Walgreens called Ematrol(equate makes a generic) that is basically coke syurp that helps to numb your stomach and halts the parastaltic movement which in turn stops vomiting-it is safe to use during pregnancy. (As long as you don't have gest. diabetes) Ginger is good for nausea but won't help if it is a virus. Make sure your skin on your hands stays supple,if it starts tenting (If you can pinch it and it stays together) you need to go ahead and head to the hospital. Dehydration is very dangerous in pregnancy and especially with your previous issues! hug.gif Feel better!

A&A'smommy replied:
Do you have any help with Bella??? bless your heart it sucks SOo bad to be sick ESPECIALLY when you are pregnant!! Do what you can and I hope you feel better...
btw did you know that taking a 1000mg of vit. C everyday can help you not go into early labor!! I think that is so neat..

Calimama replied:

Mommy2Isabella replied: Thanks guys!!
