Making my first Thanksgiving Dinner! - What was I thinking?
Kirstenmumof3 wrote: My DH and I usually go to my mothers house for Thanksgiving but since we have borders I decided to cook Thanksgiving Dinner today at our house. My inlaws are coming over (again what was I thinking)! I phoned my MIL to ask for her help and she started laughing at me. Nothing like making someone feel so inadequate in there own home! She made rice stuffing (her stuffing is awesome), so now I have to clean the bird, stuff it and put it in the oven. I am feeling very overwhelmed. But my brother and his girlfriend are coming over this morning to help me make Lemon Meringue pies and they both used to be chefs so I will ask there advice (hopefully they won't laugh at me)! I just want this to be perfect because my inlaws will be here. Oh and all of my borders are gone so this kinda backfired on me! 2 of my borders went home for Thanksgiving and one is missing (I'm not worried though she does this all the time)! Well wish me luck!

amynicole21 replied: Don't stress too much about it, it's only dinner after all!! I'm sure it's going to turn out perfectly... my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!
MommyToAshley replied: I am sure everything will go alright for you. That's great that you have some help, and don't feel silly for asking questions. I am the same way.
I cooked my first Thanksgiving dinner about 4 years ago and had about 20 people over for dinner. When my Dad went to carve the turkey, he noticed it was upside down (appearantly I coooked it that way) and everyone laughed at me! So, they flipped it, he carved it, and then when we started eating everyone was saying how juicy the turkey was and that is was the best turkey they had ever had. I have to admit, it was juicy. So, now I cook all my turkeys upside down. LOL

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Thanks everyone! Things are going pretty good. The turkey is in the oven, pies are done, potatos, carrots and turnip are peeled. All I have to do now is wait until about 4-4:30 and turn everything on. My brother was very helpful and told me my turkey looked great!
MommyToAshley replied: That's great! Have a nice time and enjoy your dinner and family!
MommyToAshley replied: Sooo, how did it go?
